I don't think both trade would ever happen. IF Florida/Pittsburgh trade did work out, it would make sense for both teams, here's why?

Pittsburgh gains a promising young top 6 winger, salary dumps Scuderi (3,375,000x2 years) while getting out of Letang's long term committment of (7,200,000x8 years). Acquiring Campbell's contract of 7,142,875 for one season will benefit the younger defensemen on this team because Martin and Ershoff most likely won't be back. This trade would free up $3,432,125 without signing RFA Huberdeau. However, that would probably go straight to his new contract.

Now Florida gets a young unknown potential player in Bennett and if healthy they get a franchise offensive defenseman in Letang for 8 years. Scuderi will be a bottom 6th defenseman but Florida has the salary cap room to add his salary.

See this trade as:
Huberdeau for Letang
Campbell for Bennett and Scuderi

I'm sorry that I think more indepth to each trade proposal. I could breakdown the second trade if you want.

Thanks Captain Canada for making me overthink a trade proposal.

You just gave reasons why it would happen but your saying it won't? You didn't think that indepth… the main reason why it wouldn't work is Letangs health issues, not bad otherwise.
