Elliott Friedman reported that both of detroits 1st and Mantha are available for trade after a disappointing first season in the ahl and Detroit looking to improve their blue line

Detroit only has 1 1st round pick. I also hope this trade doesn't happen because even though Mantha had a disappointing season it was his first professional season. He also came back from a his biggest injury in his career. I hope Detroit keeps him for a few years and sees what happens.

They weren't willing to give Mantha for Phaneuf at the deadline. Holland and late picks don't make them want to give up Mantha and a 1st

By both I meant their first and mantha, also mantha has dissapointed under blashill (now coach of detroit) so, like friedman said, he is also expendable. A 2nd rp is a late draft pick either

Detroit needs to pay up if they want Paneuf, contract isn't great yes, but a top pairing guy who is pretty rounded.

Weiss (dump) Smith, Mantha & 19th overall for Phaneuf & 24th overall

Babcock doesn't want Weiss or Smith, he benched Smith a lot. Wings should try for bufyglien or chara.
