I have a few trades that I think make a bit of sense. Give me your thoughts.
Trade 1
To Detroit:
D - Keith Yandle
To New York Rangers:
C - Anthony Mantha
1st Round Pick (2016)
Rangers fill two big needs; prospect fwd and a draft pick. Detroit gets a terrific d-man at a perfect price (2.8 mil cap hit). Not bad.
Trade 2
To Buffalo
G - Eddie Lack
To Vancouver
C - Mikhail Grigorenko
Sabres get a solid tandem in nets (Lack/Johnson). Canucks get a young centreman to bring some life in this old team. Personally, Grig's will be in Europe by 2017.
Trade 3 (Blockbuster!)
To Edmonton:
G - Cameron Talbot
LW - Carl Hagelin
To New York Rangers:
1st Round Pick - 2015 (16th overall)
RW - Matt Fraser
D - Martin Marincin
LW - Matt Hendricks
Ton of sense for both teams. Oilers get the next Ben Bishop and let's face it, Rangers can survive with Lundqvist/Dan Ellis tandem since Ellis' contract would be 800k/1yr. NYR's can't afford Hagelin. Period. Enter Hendricks on the 3rd/4th line and Fraser gets a chance on a full time gig. Rangers need a 1st Round pick and a 7th d-man. Yandle's gone.
Trade 4
To Ottawa:
Michael Del Zotto
3rd Round Pick - 2015 (70th overall pick)
To Philadelphia:
G - Robin lehner
RW - Chris Neil
C - Shane Prince
Flyers have no cap space for Del Zotto. Fair price for Lehner. Although I could see the arguement for Flyers 2nd round pick. 1st round pick would be laughable.
Trade 5
To Los Angeles:
RW - Phil Kessel
To Toronto:
C - Mike Richards
LW - Andy Andreoff
1st Round Pick - 2015 (13th overall pick)
Kings are in the market for Kessel. They should have little trouble staying below the cap since they will be getting younger on defense (Manchester Monarchs d-core). Leafs don't need to blow it up, they need a bit more leadership. Enter Mike Richards. Andy Andreoff is a solid prospect.
Trade 6
To Arizona:
RW - Tyler Biggs
1st Rd Pick - 2015 (13th overall) From LA
1st Round Pick - 2015 (24th overall) From NASH
To Toronto:
1st Rd Pick - 2015 (3rd overall)
Leafs need both Hannifin & Strome. Now they get it.
Trade 7 (Blockbuster!!!)
To San Jose:
G - Corey Crawford
LW - Patrick Sharp
To Chicago:
D - Brendan Dillon
C - Melker Karlsson
RW - Barclay Goodrow
G - Troy Grosenick
Hawks are fine without Crawford. Raanta/Darling/Grosenick can hold the fort next year. This trade will give the Hawks enough money for Saad/Oduya/Richards. With Dillon in the mix, Hawks D-men are strong. San Jose pulls a Niemi and pick up a great Hawks goalie after a Cup win. This deal will spring the Sharks into the playoffs next year.
Last Trade (No blockbuster)
To Philadelphia:
RW - PA Parenteau
LW - Christian Thomas
LW - Eric Tangradi
To Montreal:
Vincent Lecavalier
3rd Round Pick - 2015 (90th overall pick)
Hear me out. Flyers need the cap space to sign Voracek long term next year. Parenteau's contract is only one year. Lecavalier is 3 years, which is why the habs are awarded a draft pick for taking the risk of this contract. This deal benefits both teams though. Lecavalier will be a fan favorite in MTL and reach 1000 pts during this contract.
Give me your thoughts?

Really good post. My only gripe would be I feel Chicago could get more valuable assets in return for Sharp/Crawford but I also doubt they move Crawford considering the dominance they have shown with him in net.

Not even close for 3rd overall.

How does Yandle get that but Kessel only get a cap dump, no name prospect and a 1st.

Trade 6 is laughable.

LOL you're not getting Lehner for that. I appreciate the Neil aspect but Prince is ready for the jump.
Plus OTT has 8 D on 1 ways right now already. Why would they add this?

Montreal does not want that old slow lecavalier and his contract they need to sign players also

if edm trades marincin without getting a defensemen back that's better then edms defenscore will be even worse which is hard to believe

I think Detroit trading Mantha and a first would be used to get a Top 4 RH D-man. Yandle is not it. Not saying Yandle isn't good but I think Detroit will try for other D-men first.
Getting Mantha in a Yandle deal is something I am not sure would happen.
Other D-men Detroit will try: Byflugien, Shattenkirk, Seabrook

Montreal wouldn't touch Lecavalier with a ten foot pole

Everything you read suggests the top-3 could be franchise players and the top-5 could all themselves be first overall picks in other draft years. Yet the leafs, in countless proposals on this board, are moving up to the top 5 for picks and scraps. Biggs? Are you kidding? That's the mighty cog that gets you into the top-3? What an absolute joke. Even your x-box would laugh at you if you tried a trade like that.

The Biggs and couple mid to late 1sts is the biggest joke on the site lol
