Wondering if a trade with Edmonton would be a good idea. Since they are one of the most solid looking teams, minus a few parts. Maybe the value is off but the cap levels it out depending on what they sign Bernier for.

For the first time a Edmonton leafs trade results in the leafs being totally trolled this is horrible value for Bernier and Phanuef

Even if you consider Ference and Purcell cap dumps (not great contracts but still have some use) they only have one season left on each. No way Phaneuf gets a decent return unless they retain.

The leafs can't retain anymore salary on another contract because we already have three, in kessel, Gunnersson and and that other Dman I'm too lazy to google or remember that Nonis randomly bought out. So in order to trade phanuef then we are taking contracts back. Yakupov is the only piece we are after.
