Continuing a trade I posted earlier. Both trades help in areas of need.

PHI: Brayden Schenn, Luke Schenn ($2.5M + $3.6M)
for
ARI: Mikkel Boedker ($3.75M)

PHI: Michal Neuvirth, Mark Streit ($1.625M + $5.25M)
for
CAL: Jonas Hiller, Kris Russell ($4.5M + $2.6M)

First trade: Flyers get a better goal scorer and move a defenseman, Coyotes get a good LW and a big, physical defender. Flyers clear $2.35M in cap.

Second trade: Flyers get a backup goalie and a younger defenseman, Flames get a consistent, solid starting goalie and a defenseman who can still help them be a contender now. Streit is a better scorer than Russell, but age is an obvious factor. Flyers take on $225K.

Calgary wouldn't take that trade.

The way that Neurvith has played this year I would wait before trading him, it's possible for him to emerge as a starting goalie and you can never have to many good goalies. Plus the Flyers already have all the defence they need and need a solid goal scorer.

The problem with the CGY trade is that Streit is signed for another year at that salary. They can't afford it because they have to resign Gaudreau and Monahan this year. Maybe if PHI retains salary but then why do it?
