How the Flyers can get Auston Mathews (Assuming the Leafs draft him) :
Flyers trade Mark Striet to Stars for first round pick (probably 28th overall)
Flyers trade both their own first round pick the Stars first round pick, Chicago 2nd round pick (acquired last year) Robert Hagg, Brayden Schenn, and Laughton.
Toronto agrees because: They have the oppertunity to get 2 first and 2 secconds in a strong draft class, add a good defensive prospect in Hagg to their already good group, get a good NHL ready center which they desperately need at 2.5 millions per year (expires this year so will be able to sign him at similar price next season, around 3 million) and add another offensive rookie with a cheap cap hit that could develop into a good top 9 forward.

You're wrong. That package isn't good enough to warrant giving up a franchise center.
Besides, what makes you think the leafs are getting Matthews? CBJ is in last place, 3pts behind Anaheim in spite of having played 4 more games than the Ducks and things don't look to be improving in Columbus anytime soon.

If you think the Flyer could get Matthews through a trade you better start with Provorov, a high first and probably another piece of value.

Flyers and Preds make this trade:
To Preds: Laughton and Schenn
To Flyers: Forsberg and 3rd round pick
The Preds Achilles heal has always been offence and although their giving a great player in Forsberg, they're getting a more versatile forward with Schenn. He is able to play all 3 forward positions effectively and has most probably not finished developing yet. that being said there is a bit of risk involved which is why the Flyers would also add Laughton to sweeten the deal, despite the fact that Forsberg has been in the league for such a short time.
Because the Flyers are giving away a top 6 forward in Schenn and a once highly touted prospect in Laughton Nashville will need to add to a pick to even things out (a third seems reasonable) .
This also works out for the Flyers because they do manage to save some room in the salary cap, get a possible 30 goal scorer and add yet another pick in this years draft.

Again, no. Terrible for the Preds. They need a #1C and have defensive assets to get one. Giving up their top scorer to get a #2C and a good prospect doesn't help their offense at all. In fact, it makes it worse. They make this trade and it's a downhill slide for the rest of the season, I promise you.

As a Flyers fan, I would absolutely love it but there's no way Nashville even considers it.

The way that Neurvith has played this year I would wait before trading him, it's possible for him to emerge as a starting goalie and you can never have to many good goalies. Plus the Flyers already have all the defence they need and need a solid goal scorer.
