Shipachyov is upset. He doesn't want to be in the minors, and rightfully so.

Pittsburgh needs a new third line centre.

V. Shipachyov (25% Retained) + L. Sbisa to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for C. Hagelin + D. Sprong + 2018 2nd Round Pick.


Sbisa and Hagelin are salary against each other. Vegas wants to get rid of dmen, and Hagelin is stuck behind many wingers in Pittsburgh. Makes sense.

A disgruntled Ship for Sprong and a 2nd seems fair, considering the need for a third line centre in Pittsburgh, and Ship's talent level.

Interesting. They had to send him and two others down 3 days before season opening because they were trying to trade one of Brad Hunt, Reinhart or Merril. Because those three had to clear waivers and they thought someone would claim and didn't want to lose for nothing.
Ship, Shea Theodore and another were sent down because they didn't have to clear waivers.
GM messed up and Ship pod for it. Sucks big time. Understand why he may be upset.
His agent Svaboka said today that the rumor of him wanting to return to the KHL is untrue.
GM needs to get him in the lineup.
Or his trade to Pitts you proposed is actually intriguing.
