Would like this as a leaf fan but no incentive for Chicago to take this. If Chicago were to trade those players youth would have to be going the other way.

I'm still not big on Strome but he's worth more than Dube and Valimaki is worth more than Stillman which evens things out. I'd ask for 50% retention on Strome and throw in 4th/ 5th round pick.

The retention would only be 1.5M cap (far less actual cost to Chicago) and he's UFA after this season so it wouldn't cost much extra.

Strome may become to CGY what Bennett has become for FLA otherwise he’s an asset that should retain value, so could be moved again if not.

I’m fine with offering a late pick for retention if it helps to bring in other pieces.
