Why does everyone think that the Pens need another fast, speedy, undersized forward?

The Pens have a few bigger forwards in the minors about 2-3 years away from a given chance.

This undersized speedy concept in the playoffs doesn't win Lord Stanley's Cup. A mixture of speed, skill, and size will get a team into the finals. EXAMPLE Boston, LA Kings recent success.

I know Boston won't trade Lucic, who I personally believe fits the ideal player the Pens should invest in.

Zack Kassian, anyone?

Kreider would look good in Pitt but I don't think those 2 division rivals would make a deal

I wouldn't be disappointed if the Pens maybe atleasted tried to explore Kassian as an option. He's 6'3" 214lbs. and under contract until 2016 at 1. 75 million/per season. He hasn't been offensively productive in 21 games this season with 2G/3A. I heard that Vancouver is asking for a lot in return for the former 1st round draft pick.

@Willi you are absolutely correct the Ranger wouldn't trade Kreider to the Pens. Unless the Pens really offer a very lopsided deal favoring the Rangers. He's been decent offensively this season with 8G/12A in 37 games. Kreider would look great in a Pens jersey, imo.
