How did forsberg get not pick in the top 5 of the 12 draft I mean damn oilers and jackets miss on something the only two teams that came up with a descent pick is the habs and the jets even if forsberg is going to be a superstar like philip forsberg while gslchenyuk is more going to be like a kovalchuck and trouba a ryan sutter

Leafs got Reilly. Iles got Reinhardt. Ducks got Lindholm. Pitt got Pouliot and Maatta. Tampa got Koekkoek AND Vasilevski. Sharks got Hertl. Chicago got Teravinen. Bruins got Subban. Flyers got Laughton. Kings got Pearson. I'd say more than the Jets and Habs had a decent pick in that draft and that's just the first round. In fact I'd say Tampas was better than BOTH the Habs and Jets in that one

2.) 20 Jan 2015
Hold on i'm talking about the pick before fosberg only

Picking the future franchise G 19th overall (acquired from DET for Kyle Quincey, #inyzermanwetrust). Awesome.

4.) 20 Jan 2015
Maybe tampas pick will be as good or better if they ever make the nhl

5.) 20 Jan 2015
Hab I'm going to assume you missed Vasilevskis stellar nhl stint when Bishop was hurt and and are ignorant of the Tampa system in general as there is little to no chance either of these players don't make the nhl. Koekkoek as soon as next year Vasilevski later for seasoning in North America and because Bishop is under contract

6.) 20 Jan 2015
Potential is just potential. and yes vasilevskis nhl stint was amazing but I think it was 4 games. koekkoek is not doing anything to impress me at the ahl level this season. so until they are in the lineup they are still just potential/prospect. forsberg has been awesome and among the leading scorers in the league. is it just me or would everyone in the world trade both vasilevskis and koekoek right now for Forsberg. I would also take trouba, reilly, reinhart over koekkoek any day of the week.

7.) 20 Jan 2015
I wouldn't trade Vasilevski for him. And I'm not denying Trouba Reilly etc. Are better than Koekkoek but I'd be hard pressed to say he won't make the nhl. I get tired of the potential is only potential argument. While it has merit it doesn't mean a player is automatically going to fail or worthless because he isn't a full time nhl player at 20

8.) 21 Jan 2015
Agree, it doesn't mean he will never make it but it doesn't mean he will either. if you like your picks that's fine by all means support them. but the way your talking is they were the best players drafted and I hate to disappoint you but they are not.

To be honest: I would not trade Vasilevski alone for Forsberg +.
Future franchise goalie. Not going to be traded.

10.) 21 Jan 2015
Its called hometown bias I have it too. I wouldn't want to see tinordi traded but he still may never be any good.

Vasilevski is different.
just wait and see.

12.) 21 Jan 2015
Vasilevski has to get a shot first. Is Bishop continues to play well he may be Jonathan Bernier 2. 0

I don't think so. SY genuisly signed Bish to a 2 year contract extension. Not the "normal" 5-6 year deal you'd normally expect nowadays. Because he knew Bish isn't the long term answer, but Vasilevski will be.
That's at least what I do read into it.

14.) 23 Jan 2015
Bishop was given a 2 year deal because he was unproven at the time (1 good season under his belt). It was a bridge contract. I believe he will be resigned before he has the chance to walk because Tampa will be in a win now mode by then and you won't want a rookie leading the way

15.) 23 Jan 2015
I agree with Willi.

Even if you're right Drais, I highly doubt SY would let Bishop walk if he continues to play at a high level.

Well, if he continues to play at the level, he will demand even more $$$ and term, probably. And you can't really keep both. Will get money issues and issues about playing time. And if you ask me right now, who's the man in TB's goal in 2 years, my answer would without a question be Vasilevski.
