To Detroit: Jeff Petry

IMO Murray would make that trade, but I also do not think it is enough for Eberle. What about Hodgson, Brady Austin & Neuvirth for Eberle & Scrivins?

STN - it doesn't make sense to me, but Eberle was a #22nd pick, not a #1. If the draft was today, I suspect he would go in the top 4.

Eberle was drafted 22, not #1. Not that it makes a difference, after a player is drafted it really doesn't matter where, value is then in the player

Everybody calm down. The reason I thought this can work is Eberle is a smaller winger and would have more use in the Eastern Conference. And he has 6 million on his deal. Getting rid of Eberle means we can get a bigger and better winger in Free Agency. No doubt Eberle has skill.

Heck Detroit could throw in KindlLashoff with those picks to give you a Dman with NHL experience for the rest of the season to open up the spot for Petry on the roster.
