This is just a proposal and coming from TSN Insider Darren Dreger, the Maple Leafs and Predators had serious discussions regarding Phil Kessel. Now I know that it may be a long shot that the Leafs trade Kessel, but if they ever did and it was to the Predators, I would like to know what would be the return to Toronto. I see something along the lines of this:

Toronto Maple Leafs:
Phil Kessel
Jake Gardiner

Nashvile Predators:
Colin Wilson
Roman Josi
Filip Forsberg

Too much? thoughts please

where did dreger say this, cause it doesn't seem to make much sense at all.

I don't think they would be able to get Filip Forsberg. If I were the leafs I would be forcusing on a big deal revolving around Seth Jones and their first round pick for Kessel +. I think Nashville would be more willing to move jones considering they have solid dmen in Weber, Josi, Ellis, Ekholm.

Ya there getting a top scorer in kessel but I don't think preds would do it. Especially with Josi and forsberg's play this year

Leafs should jump all over that deal, although I would rather have Seth Jones than Josi?

Preds would probably be reluctant to trade both jibes and Forsberg?

I'm pretty sure the Preds have no interest in moving any of Weber, Josi, Jones, Ellis.

IF sth like that happens, I'd expect it to be Josi, Wilson, maybe Jarnkrok and a pick

I agree that Jones won't be moved, and Forsberg is likely staying too, but in this hypothetical trade scenario, when you start talking about trading for stars, then you have to be willing to give up a player like Forsberg.

Anything for Kessel is fair. got to unload the 8M salary.

Then Phaneuf, Clarkson, Lupul, Robidas,
Over priced pieces of the puzzle.
