None of those trades for leafs make sencse there doing a rebuild not trading away there key peaces for older guys and picks

I see absolutely no reason for Murray to make this trade: Smith for Lindback & 2015 3rd
1) Lindback does have an upside Smith is what he is and probably will not get much better
2) Murray wants to accumulate picks not give them away. Buffalo has drafted 17 players in the past 24 years who were drafted AFTER the 3rd round who have played a minimum of 200 games. 7 of them have scored at least 200 points and 2 were GK who won at least 80 games.
3) The Sabres do not have a 3rd in 2015.
