V. Nichushkin for Conditional 2nd Round Pick CGY (2nd if he signs, 3rd if not)

Calgary could use another RW and Nichushkin will not sign with Dallas. Vesey's rights were traded for a 3rd and Beau Bennett who has a contract was traded for a 3rd so I think value wise this works.

Lol that's not enough bud, that's exactly what he wants is a fresh start so no doubt he'd sign. HIs value prolly sits closer to Yak & a 3rd. Otherwise he stays put until he is signed

Rights to a player that might not sign with the team are not worth much. Vesey > Nichushkin and he only got a 3rd.

I think Calgary would jump all over this but I don't think Dallas would be ready to take that yet. I think it may be getting close if he is saying he won't resign though. Similar to the Baertchi trade.

Why is vesey better than nickushkin? He hasn't played a shift. Vesey might turn out good. Be a legit top 6. But consider this, he was a 3rd rounder, committed to college, had a bad first year, mediocre second year, and led the nation in his 3rd and 4th. Matt frattin had the exact same path except was originally a 4th rounder instead of a 3rd. He couldn't make 30th place for Toronto, traded twice, waived twice, traded with phaneuf and Ottawa loaned him back to the Marlies, didn't even want him there. Not saying that is what vesey has to be, but people saying he's better than these former top10 guys with massive skill is crazy. Let's wait and see.

Unbiased Jim you made good points and I admit I was naive in saying Vesey was better than Nichushkin. I do think though that Nichushkin could only get a 2nd Round Pick and Vesey for a 3rd is a comparable.
