Per yesterday, very interesting trade.

FYI Ryan is signed till 21/ 22 Lucic an extra year.

Edmonton's the one that's tight against the cap so an Ottawa retention of minimum 1.25M is most likely required.

Both players have some sore of NTC as well that could hamper this trade.

I think both teams benefit from this though, so decent trade proposal.

If Ottawa is looking to rebuild Lucic will be a good asset to have and atleast he’ll play, Ryan is literally hurt every couple days and heard Ottawa is done dealing with that. Oilers take a bigger cap and imo more risk but I do like the trade.

Cant see ottawa taking lucic's 6 million dollar cap charge and extra year term if retention is in the discussion tbh.

Ryan has 4 Years, while Lucic has 5 Years. Lucic is 1 million cheaper and more durable.

Oilfan. if retention on the ryan contract is expected, i can't picture any possible way that would work out cheaper for the sens.

No way is retention needed especially when a worst longer contract coming back its fine as is. If Edmonton wants to free space they simply make another trade.
