I know this trade will never happen, but it does make a little sense:
-------------------gm---g---ass-pts--pim
Nail Yakupov----164--33--35--68--74
Marcus Foligno--164--24--37--61--175
They were drafted in the same year Nail 1st, Marcus 104th. Foligno would add size & toughness to EDM, Yakupov could be a top 6 RW at a small price and risk to Buffalo.

Edmonton would need buffalo to add here or else they would look terrible. Not saying the value is that far off but this would just show how bad their situation is and how bad their whole organization needs to be rebuilt. This would basically prove they have the worst scouting in the league to go along with one of the worst gms in the league. They cannot draft an nhler unless he's a gimme first round guy.

as sad as it is, tey are pretty equal, but like someone sai above, EDM literally cat do it since it would look soooo bad on them.

3.) 10 Feb 2015
Marcus foligno was drafted in 2009 and yakupov in 2012.

4.) 10 Feb 2015
I agree BUF needs to add, but not much & EDM Cannot scout Juniors.

5.) 10 Feb 2015
They weren't drafted the same year. Foligno '09 and Yakupov '12. sorry just had to correct you it was bothering me

It actually makes no sense at all.

I know that this was just whimsical post. @TMLeafs as you correctly observed EDM does not draft well. From 1991 draft to the present EDM drafted only 7 players after the 3rd round (Matthew Lombardi, Kyle Brodziak, *Shawn Horcoff, *Jason Chimera, Fernando Pisani, Miroslav Satan & David Oliver) who played more than 200 NHL games. In contrast my Sabres have 17 such players (Marcus Foligno not yet but will get there, Paul Byron not yet but will get there, Chris Butler, Nathan Gerbe, Patrick Kaleta, Natha Paetsch, *Dennis Wideman, *Paul Gaustad, +Ryan Miller, *Ales Kotalik, *Brian Campbell, Shane Hnidy, *Matt Barnaby, Yuri Khmylev, +Steve Shields, *Sean O'Donnell & *Brian Holzinger). Only two of the late EDM draftees scored more than *200 points (the irony is Satan did the scoring as Sabre) while 7 of the Sabres late picks scored over *200 points, (BTW 2 +GK also have 80 life time wins). I did not compare other teams drafting capabilities. But this just magnifies the drafting woes the Oilers have had the past 24 years.

@Nicp57 & @jtsbuf4327 I must have had a brain fart, you are both correct, they were not drafted the same year.
