Leafs & Avs trade

Col: Kessel, kadri, gardiner
Tor: Landeskog and oreilly

The avs make Mckinnion or Duchene captian

I'd love it but it's not enough from TO and Landeskog will not be traded IMO

A bad trade for avs. ROR is better than kadri. Landeskog is a leader, unlike kessel. Plus, landeskog is younger.

I would love a one two punch of vanRiemsdyk and Landeskog on left wing however I think Colorado says no because they could probably get the help they need on defense along with another decent forward just by trading O'Reilly.

I'd say Leafs add a pick and it's a done deal.

I can totally see #92 on the Leafs, and Kessel in an Avs jersey.

The thinking is:
kessel is an upgrade over Landeskog in terms of scoring. With mckinnion and Duchene as the centers I think they have a surplus of leadership so Avs can sacrifice leadership for more goals. Also gives the centers a pure goal scorer, would really bennifit mckinnion.

Oreilly is going to be traded anyway, probably for a sub par package, so kadri gardiner is greater value than I think they would get. a draft pic and a prospect really doesn't do them much good because they are done rebuilding.

Its a good trade for both teams, probably a little bit overpayment by the leafs since kessel is BY FAR the best player in this trade.

I really don't know why the Avs would turn this down, gardiner is the iceing on the cake that makes tham take this deal I think. They are not very deep on the blueline.

I agree landeskog is not going anywhere, but numbers don't lie I think kadri is better than o,rielly. But because he is on Toronto he will never get any respect.

I like it' Leafs adding a bit better blue collar hockey guy. As many of us hate Kessel, defensive issues aside, he's the best scorer, skater and talent for "puck in net" in all these posts. Tho, I Think Avs would be more willing if a steady D prospect like Finn was added in.

MacKinnon isn't ready to be a captain it would probably be one of their long serving players like Erik Johnson

I don't think it's underpayment by the Leafs.

But Colorado declines, Landeskog is the deal breaker. Can't see them moving him

Stickboi this is a terrible trade. Come back to earth. Kessel is overpaid and useless in 2/3rds of a game, Kadri can't do anything and Gardiner MAY get you a 3rd pick. Definitly not worth Landeskog and O'Reilly. Not even worth JUST Landeskog.

Colorado would probably move Duchene before Landeskog
