Nashville Trades
Forsberg (50% of contract retained)

Toronto Trades
Mikheyev
Engvall
Kokkonen (SHL)
1st Round Pick 2021
1st Round Pick 2022

If Nashville is going to trade Forsberg you have to blow them away to get him, and believe this Trade Proposal would probably be the best they could get for Forsberg.

Leafs basically switch Mikheyev with Forsberg, and that's a huge upgrade for The Leafs for the next 2yrs at least.
And yes with The Leafs on the hook for 3 million this year and next season in Cap for Forsberg they are ok Cap Wise.

@10shotgun97
Yes 50% of Forsberg's Cap is retained so 3 million is on the books for the Leafs and yes with a 20 man roster plus the 6 on the taxi squad it fits the cap.

10shotgun, did you read the proposal?

Forsberg makes $6M. He has it 50% retained. Meaning leafs are taking a $3M cap hit

Pierre Engvall makes $1.25M and Mikheyev makes $1.645M.

That’s $2.895M out and $3M in

Yes it works.

For Forsberg, especially at 50% retained, I'm thinking of a return that would be as enticing as trading a guy like William Nylander, for instance. Nylander's the younger player with a longer term, but you could say that Nylander at full price for the next four years would be equivalent to Forsberg at 50% retention for the next two.

This type of package wouldn't cut it for a guy like Nylander, I'd want something other than a 1st that is actually a deal-breaker, a guy like Nick Robertson, Amirov or Sandin, on top of a 1st and some more pieces.

If Forsberg's moved, he'll probably get a ridiculous haul, and I don't know if the Leafs have the assets and cap space to get it done.

I agree with TopShelf I’d say Sandin instead of one of the 1sts makes it fair.
