Pittsburgh rebuilds
1. Letang to Montreal for Romanov + Drouin + 2nd in 2022
Montreal fills Weber's spot on the top D pair with a much better player. Pens get replacement D and a pick.
2. Malkin to Washington, Kuznetsov to Rangers, Strome + 2nd in 2022 via Caps and 4th in 2022 via Rangers
We finally get to see Malkin + OV, Rangers get their 1C assuming they are out on Eichel and Pens get a young C and 2 picks.
3. Crosby to Avs for Byram, Newhook, Kadri and 2022 1st
Avs give up a lot, but it would probably take an overpay. They then can play Crosby + Mack on one line and Rantanen + Landi on another- easily two of the best lines. Pens get 2 strong prospects and a pick. They can move Kadri

Ok I’ll just comment on the first for now. Kris kelang could have been had for much less then this especially before free agency. And he is not and never was a much better player then Weber. well maybe now but only cause Weber is injured.

I got to disagree. 3 cups versus zero, 582 points in 863 versus 589 in 1038, his recent stats are much much better, his +/ - is better as well and he had more hits and blocks last year. Letang would be a massive upgrade over weber.

You can agree or disagree bud that’s your choice. but you don’t have to waste your time trying to sway my opinion. cause it ain’t going to happen. I’ll chose the eye test every time over random stats.

Weber and Letang are two completely different players.
Had Weber had guys like Crosby and Malkin, he also would have won a few cups.
A healthy in prime Weber vs a healthy in prime Letang? I'll take Weber all the time. probably not a Dman in last 15 yrs I would take over him, maybe Hedman.

I don't see solving weber absence with Letang. Different style, and Letang has an injury history probably worse until now.

Is malkin getting strome a 2nd and a 4th? Seems like you can trade him for real value. Calgary would probably give a 1st+ especially. With retention.

Colorado is not going to give up Byram. Crosby with landeskog on his wing could be great.

Malkin to flames for gadreau and a 1st (retain on malkin 2 mil) .

Crosby and Letang to rangers for strome, kappo, georgiev, 2 firsts, and retain on them if needed.

Malkin is 35 years old, declining and UFA in a year.

Calgary would be better off just keeping Johnny and letting him walk in a year than doing that trade!

Malkin is 35, he’s obviously still really good but I’d rather keep Gaudreau and I’m sure the flames would too….
