Canucks- Pettersson, garland, OEL, Dickinson, Hoglander, 2022 3rd, 2023 2nd
Devils- Jack Hughes, Luke Hughes, Subban, Zacha, Jonathon Bernier

Devils get lots of talent and create a roster that can compete for the playoffs next year, while the Canucks build a franchise around brothers while getting younger and adding cap space for the future

Canucks- JT Miller, Tyler motte, Luke Schenn
Rangers- Braden Schneider, Kappo Kakko, 2022 1st, 2023 2nd

Rangers get three players that will help with there Stanley cup ambitions. Canucks get a top prospect, a couple picks, and a young talent which will help the team once he gets back from injury.

No from New Jersey.
Jack and Luke > Pettersson
Garland and Zacha are pretty comparable in terms of value imo
OEL has extreme negative value and tanks the deal.

Rumour is Vancouver wants Schneider and a 1st and NYR aren’t willing to do that. No way they throw Kaapo in as well.

Rangers counter offer with Kravtsov and a second. They settle on Lundkvist and a first in the end.

For Miller alone that is.

Very interesting! Two Hughes boys in Vancouver. and a fresh start for Pettersen. I didn't do the math on the cap hits but this is definitely an interesting proposal/ conversation 👍.

It'd be all THREE Hughes Brothers if VAN acquires those Two: Quinn + Jack and Luke.

Canucks say no on the first, Subban and Bernier are less than worthless. And Jack, an unproven Luke and Zacha don't have enough value to get everything from the Canucks that was offered.

The second trade is too much from the Rangers. The Canucks aren't getting Laf or Kakko as much as fans wish they could. It's also not going to be just a first and Lundkvist as some others on this site have suggested, thays a laughable offer. If Miller goes back to NYR, and it's a big if, he will get anywhere from 3-5 assets of varying value if Laf, Kakko and Schneider aren't available.

3-5 assets for Miller, now that's what I call laughable.

3 maybe something like Kuznetsov or Lundkvist, a first and 4th/ 5th pick or a prospect who isn't very good.

4 or 5 only if the extra 1 or 2 are cap dumps of bad contracts.

I'll add a caveat to that.

The only way they get much more than what I said is if the acquiring team is absolutely certain Miller will resign them for a price they're willing to pay.

That pretty much means the Canucks would have to give them permission to talk with Miller's agent and make a deal with him ahead of time.

If that happens then yeah he'd be worth a fair bit more than a first and a decent prospect. Without it he's not much more than a rental.

I don't see the NJD doing that and VAN isn't dealing Pettersson. It isn't an awful exchange but I don't see it.

I think that NYR/VAN trade is close but maybe a bit too much. Maybe take out the NYR 2nd.

People keep saying Schneider is untouchable but when you look at prospect reports...he projects as a 2nd pairing D man...? Uh, why is he untouchable?!

@moxnix,
Miller, nor his agent can negotiate a new contract until the summer.

They can negotiate all they want. They can even come to an agreement. They just can't sign and register it with league until summer.
