The Penguins have a lot of UFA’s and this might be there last year to go for it. I’m not sure if they’d be interested in trading a lot of futures for a guy like Klingberg or Giroux. I have Blueger coming back because he makes over 2M and could be a good C option for the Oil.

Add a conditional 2nd/ 3rd maybe? I think it would be a loss for the Oil but it’ll be a good move to make to free up cap.

I can’t believe teams trading guys for cap reasons that they just gave multi year deals to. Holland had the chance to not give Barrie that contract and instead use it to improve his Goaltending which should have been priority #1 all along.

Much like Garland in Vancouver. Give a guy the $5Mx5 and then want out of it in 45-50 games. Ridiculous. It’s the type of moves a GM should be held accountable for.

I think before c.v. he would’ve been asking for 7M in FA and signing him for 4.5M after leading D in scoring the year before looked like a steal. So that played a big part. His game has taken a step back but also having Bouchard take a lot of his minutes has made it worse.

I’ll agree wasting cap on a few different players instead of getting a goalie is inexcusable. Especially considering some of the goalies that were available.
