To edm: Bobby ryan

To ott: Milan lucic, anton slepyshev

Two bad contracts of former top six forwards get switched but lucic's contract is a bit worse so Ottawa gets some future potential! And Edmonton could resurrect Bobby ryan playing with Connor or leon! Ottawa gets more size and grit.

I think a lot of people underestimate Ryan. He isn't a bad player. No from Ottawa.

They sure do! That's why I would want him! But I also see that the senators look at Ryan's contract as the worst one they have just as the oilers do with lucic. But slepyshev is going to come up and be a very good player.

Ya no from oil, more risk with Ryan unfortunately even tho he is a good player. Guy can’t stay healthy. Lucic for ryan can be a real possibility if Ottawa does clear ship lucic would be great leadership for them.

Sense decline because Atleast Ryan has some skill and can skate. Lucic is sluggish and not made for today’s game plus Slepyshev is worth a 4-5th round pick so that’s not enough of a difference.

We don't need Leadership McJesus. Bobby is a great leader anyway.

@Hoff, if sens blow it up as much as they may, and they have 8-10 rookies playing next year like the leafs did a last season, lucic could be better for that situation than Ryan. My reason is that the leafs went out and brought in guys like Moore, Marleau, Boyle to have these kids surrounded by guys who have played hundredss of playoff games combined. They also signed Matt martin to “keep the flys of the kids” as Babcock called it. He allowed nylander, marner and matthews to come in and play with confidnce and a bit more fearless than they might if he wasn’t there. Lucic brings both of those things in one package. Ryan is more skilled by a mile, but a guy who’s won a cup, made playoff runs with 3 different teams and can stick up for his team mates would be better for kids to have around than a great stick handler who plays a little soft and spends a lot of time on the IR.

Lucic has a NTC and would more than likely decline going to Ottawa for a rebuild. The only places I can realistically see Lucic going as a possibility is back to Boston or LA. To Boston for bad contract Belesky and a pick or something like that. He would fit right back in with Boston in my opinion. But ya, he wouldn't waive to go to Ottawa.

You’re probably right Yup. I was just saying how he could be useful in a city like Ottawa at this point, not that he would want to do that.

Ryan's hurt an awful lot. Maybe he should just be on LTIR forever like T. O. pulled with Lupul?

Ottawa doesn't want lucic, the sens cap dump is more skilled than the oilers cap dump. its not a huge difference but oilers cap dump has an even worse contract, i would take ryan over lucic any day of the week injuries and all. if the sens could retain on ryan it could possibly even result in positive value, i mean bobby ryan at 3.75 million is reasonable.

I posted the exact trade proposal a couple weeks ago yup. Lucic for Beleskey and a pick I believe. I must have missed your reply that it was a good post and that you agreed with me.

I agree with Hoff68. Ryan is a good player but costs a lot of money. He also comes back too soon as most of you say he should get better or completely heeled. Can't hide the fact that he is a team player though. He never blames his teammates. I also agree that 1 for 1 would be better at this time.
