The Carolina/ Leafs trade rumors are really heating up, and it really does make sense for these two teams to make a deal. Carolina has a surplus of defensemen that Leafs could really use. And Leafs have Nylander, who is very apparent we don’t need. Even with Matthews hurt, Leafs keep racking up the goals. Trading Nylander for one of carolina’s defensemen is the way to go. And I like Pesce. Don’t think Carolina will be wanting to move any of their forwards. They will be looking for addition without subtraction in that area. A simple Nylander for Pesce+ makes sense.

Have you been following along LeafsGM? The leafs have scored 15 goals in their last 7 games. They’ve scored 7 in the 3 games without Matthews. That’s not exactly racking up the goals. I’d still rather some defensive help rather than having Nylander. To say the leafs are racking up the goals still makes me think you only watched Saturday’s game and have short term memory.
