Anaheim Trades
Manson (Retain 50% of Salary)
Kesler (LTIR)

Toronto Trades
Kerfoot

Leafs will be looking at another player or 2 to help with the Cap Space loophole with LTIR.
Adding Manson helps the Defense on the right side and they add valuable Cap Space with The Ducks taking on 50% of Manson's remaining contract.

How is this a good trade?

Take out the retention and it’s closer.

@habs because Manson on his current contract is a cap dump for Anaheim, and if you don’t believe me go look at his stats.

I don't think in this new NHL that many teams will retain a portion of contracts in trades. The cap will inevitably go down so teams will have to be careful when making trades. Manson's retained $2 mil plus Kerfoot's $3.5 mil equals $5.5 mil per year plus whatever relief the Ducks would get keeping Kesler's LTIR salary for Kerfoot. The Ducks just wouldn't do it as it isn't just about a fair trade anymore.
