Petry is a good player but too old to get Ehlers. The Leafs should trade soft Nylander retaining $2 mil per for him then the Leafs would have another generational player in Petry.

Islandjet. Your “soft” arguments aren't fooling anybody. Nylander is an amazing player, and you could probably argue that he is an elite one at that. Petry is a top 4 d yes, but his age and his expiring contract make him worth someone like Dermott. Maybe Kapanen but Montreal would probably have to add a prospect.
