Detroit is at a stage of getting to the next level but still keeping the rebuild going, this proposal does both things and WNylander is the player that has been talked about going to Toronto.

New GM Treliving I believe will be looking at shuffling the deck a bit and of the top 4 core pieces WNylander makes the most sense, Perron fills in for the loss of WNylander but for The Leafs adding Seider is the obvious key in this proposal.


Thoughts ?

zero chance this happens. wings are not moving seider. i think the wings would love to add nylander but seider is the only untouchable.

If you want WNylander what would you give if you're Detroit?
Leafs aren't rebuilding and are still considered a contender.
Seider would have to be part of sending WNylander if you are Toronto imo, Liljegren, NRobertson and a 1st Rounder gives Detroit both the now and future in sending a 35 year old winger in Perron and Seider and they get the winger they need to take that next step, they could also make a trade after to SJ to get EKarlsson and sign Bertuzzi back for next season.
You tell me if say they can add my proposal plus EKarlsson and Bertuzzi you wouldn't do that?

Not a chance from Detroit, i keep seeing this idea on social media and it would make no sense for Detroit to trade Seider.

i agree toronto is still a contender and should try go get good compensation in return, but at the sametime the wings aren't giving up a young franchise defenseman in that deal. robertson can't stay healthy and liljegren is 5th dman at best and the first is a late first (which probably gets moved when the leafs try to get rid of Murray's cap hit) . if the wings wanted bertuzzi they just would have signed him and not traded him and karlsson is great but i don't think the wings add him as they are still two years away from competing to try and go deep in the playoffs. i believe nylander is a really good player but if seider is what they are asking for and i don't blame them for asking. i think Detroit will politely say no thanks.

- Seider is likely untouchable in Stevie Y's eyes. (He went off the board to select him, and it worked out beyond their wildest dreams. GM's don't give up guys like this. )

- This yard sale doesn't come close to providing proper value.

- No Homer Deals.
