Edmonton says no Winnipeg says yes

Draisaitl alone > Byfuglien.

Everybody please stop overvalueing Byfuglien.

3.) 10 Aug 2015 12:39:30
Everybody stop overhyping draisaitl he hasn't done anything to prove his worth once he makes the nhl and shows his true potential then you can herald him as the next gretzky

4.) 10 Aug 2015 15:53:51
i actually agree with leafland. Buff will bring in 2 good prospects and a cap player OR a good prospect/Roster player 1st and someone with cap. That is if he gets traded

5.) 10 Aug 2015 15:57:15
Leafland: What? Nobody said anything close to that, it isn't even about Draisaitl here.

I've read numerous statements on here how people UNDERvalue Draisaitl.
Oh, and he actually already made the NHL and played ~40 games.

6.) 10 Aug 2015 20:24:12
I think it is about Draisaitl here Drais. You're saying he's better than Byfuglin alone and he's played 37 games. Maybe you're right, I don't know. You obviously have a hard on for this guy. Maybe your judgement could be off because the guys German? I'm an Irishman but that doesn't make Owen Nolan the best player to lace them up. I did get hard however when he came to the leafs.

7.) 10 Aug 2015 21:08:24
That's not the point I was making every single trade on here has draisaitl in it and all people ever say is draisaitl is worth more draisaitl is the best prospect this and that get over it already he hasn't shown anything yet yes he is good but let's remember he's good at the junior level let's see what he does again men in the big league and don't get me wrong I think he is a very food prospect but if this was a leaf fan going on and on about how nylander is the next vest thing that's all we would hear about

8.) 11 Aug 2015 02:11:14
Lol @ Lealand. You're funny :)

9.) 11 Aug 2015 04:38:23
he hasn't done anything. Oiler fans are nuts.

10.) 11 Aug 2015 06:53:04
These are TRADES it's about TRADE value. Yes this is an over exaggeration but McDavid hasn't done anything yet he is worth arguably more than anyone in the league

11.) 11 Aug 2015 07:55:59
@Oilers11: bang on. This "he hasn't done anything yet" argument is one of the dumbest ever. John Scott has done more in the league than McDavid. Is he worth more? Probably not.

No one is saying Draisaitl is like McDavid or some generational prospect, but he's a very good prospect, he got picked 3rd overall for a reason. Therefore, his trade value is pretty high, regardless of what he has done or not done so far.

So his trade value sure is higher than Byfuglien, who is 30 and rather on the worse side of his career and will either be gone via FA in a year or have to be massively overpaid.
And I still stand to saying that he's a defensive liability. Yes, he brings physicality and leadership, but again, WPG played better defensively when Buff was injured/suspended.

12.) 11 Aug 2015 08:30:44
Draisaitl has more trade value than 1 year of Byfuglien

13.) 11 Aug 2015 14:04:50
You may be right about him Drais but being picked 3rd overall doesn't necessarily mean he's going to be great either. I think we've seen guys be a bust. The Scott/McDavid comparison is getting pretty dumb too! I don't like the trade anyways. Edmonton needs a top notch, defensive minded d man. Byfuglien to a contender that needs an offensive force from the back end would make more sense.

Phi: Lecavalier

Mtl: Desharnais or Tinordi

I think Vinny could have a rebirth in Mtl. Habs fans would love to have him there.

i don't think anyone would love to have vinny on their team at the moment.

2.) 20 Jul 2015 07:23:29
Lecavalier just needs to be played in the right system, and under Berube, he wasn't put in the right situations, or paired with right players. Sucks to have a player be 1 dimensional like that, but in his 1st year as a Flyer, he had 37 points in almost 70 games. that's not great, but he was contributing. I believe he is still capable of getting 40 points in a relatively healthy season.

This deal seems fair. Although personally I would like to see Lecavalier come into his own and retire as a Flyer.

3.) 22 Jul 2015 06:16:11
Lecavalier should retire
