Laine is a soft perimeter player that is too afraid to go in the dirty areas anymore. A giveaway machine, he doesn't drive the net or play corners. Opponents rushing him cause him to panic and he tends to dish the puck to someone more capable instead to carry it in and hope it comes back his way eventually for a shot on net. If it wasn't for PP he would be a joke. At 5-on-5 he had 15 goals, 10 primary assists and 10 secondary assists. PP really boosted his totals and hides what is an otherwise average player.
