That seems like a massive overpayment from the Rangers.

I know Lafreniere hasn't had a great start to his career, however trading away the Former Number 1 overall pick before his entry level is done, seems like a big mistake. Also, isn't Schneider highly touted,? Wasn't he a player the Rangers wouldn't add in the Eichel sweepstakes? And, Kravtsov as well ( not sure if he's still in Russia, and can he even get out) .

I know this is hockey and not politics, however for the time being, i'd steer clear of adding Russians to my team, not that these players have done anything wrong, however, once they go back to Russia for Summer, who knows if they can come back or what the world will look like then.

And I mean the Russian players did nothing wrong.

Maybe just maybe the Rangers could be convinced to trade one of Lafreniere or Schneider for Miller straight up but there's no way you'd get both.

On top of that you want the Rangers to add two more prospects of their own plus take on a couple older players the Canucks don't want and the Rangers have no use for?!

NYR is a second tier contender, they'd be looking acquire upgrades and dump cap, not downgrade (in goal) and take on cap dumps.

Wtf, that’s a massive overpayment from NYR.

I don't think that's a bad trade but maybe a bit much from the NYR. I think that same package from VAN for

Lafreniere
Schneider
Kravstoff
1st round pick

is fine. NYR may want Schenn over Hamonic due to term as well which would work. NYR can keep their tandem and take someone like Motte instead over Halak.

Canucks don't need a goalie as they have a couple of decent ones in the system.

@frank2022 are you high? You guys are seriously overvaluing Miller quite a bit.

@NotACasual, nope. I'm not high

If Miller gets dealt then we'll see what the return is and who is 'high' lol

Miller won't be dealt if Canucks management think he's worth anywhere near what their fans do.

It definitely won’t be Lafreniere, Schneider ++ let’s get that right lmao.

Frank a 1st> Garand and Georgiev.

Has anyone ever been traded for a package that big? Lol.

I like Miller but that package is way too big considering what the other 2 pieces going to NYR are

Lafrenniere hasn’t been as advertised so far but he’s not a throw in player in a trade yet lol he’s in his 2nd season with 39pts in 110 games. For context, Joe Thornton as a 1st overall pick had 48pts in his first 136 NHL games. Vinny Lecavalier had 45pts in his first 105 NHL games after going 1st overall.

I’m not saying he’s going to be a Hall Of Famer like Jumbo or be an elite player for a decade like Vinny, I don’t know. But I also know this isn’t some unprecedented start to a career for a talented kid with high expectations after going 1st.

Rangers would look pretty stupid to force him out at 20 at low value and have him be a 60-70pt player elsewhere at 21.
