WPG
Dubois
Gustafsson
MTL
Dach
Dvorak

I don't believe WPG will get much in this trade.
Dach and Dvorak might be pushing it.
Might be Dubois for Dach straight up. I believe HABS hold all the cards on this trade.

WPG
Scheifele
NYI
Barzal

WPG
Wheeler
MIN
Duhaime
Foligno.

Connor Barzal Foligno
Ehlers Dach Perfetti
Barron Dvorak Appleton
Duhaime Lowry Toninato
Morrissey Dillon
Samberg Pionk
Stanley Demelo
Hellebuyck
Rittich

Completely changed the face of the Jets.
Size and speed.

There is no chance Winnipeg does the Montreal deal. They give up the two most valuable players and get far, far less that Dubois gets on his own at the TDL in 2 years. Why world Chevy move dubious fir less than he gets as a pure rental in 2 years?

The Islanders don't do the second deal.

Minnesota can't afire the 3rd.

Then come up with a counter trade!
Cause I can’t see Habs really offering that much for a guy they know they could have for nothing in 2 yrs.
JETS will want to get the best offer they can. But with
Dubois making his plans public. No other teams are going to trade anything for either. So I’d say Chevy’s hands are tied. If Dubois kept quit about his plans, just kept it in house. Then maybe Chevy would have leverage. But now he has nothing. May not get anything for Dubois. Who knows ??‍♂️?

Minnesota can't afford the 3rd.

Why would Winnipeg not be able to trade Dubois as a rental?

Everything you've mentioned is speculation. Dubois hasn't said he'll only play for Montreal, just that he wouldn't mind playing there. But just like Gaudreau, Montreal is going to have to outbid every other team that is interested when he hits FA.

It's completely silly to think no other team would trade for dubious as a rental. Just silly.

So, you haven't answered my question. Why would Chevy trade Dubois now, for less than he would get for Dubois as a rental at the TDL in 2 years?

Something like Dach/ Dvorak, Barron and a 1st might get Chevy talking now.

me marcus it seems that nobody realizes the jets still have control here. even if he only wanted to play for montreal and no other nhl team (which he's never said publicly) he can't leave the jets unless they let him leave until july 2024. so where the jets have control is they can simply keep pld until the 2023/ 24 season where they would get a great return to any contender at that time. so if montreal wants him now it's going to cost them at least the value that the jets could get 2 years from now. for me a 2023 1st is a must as is one of suzuki guhle or dach+.

At the trade deadline teams might want Dubois for a 2 year cup run like the Rangers. They could trade one of Kakko, Trocheck or even Lafrenier to get a bigger, stronger and a proven very good playoff player, sorry for the bad memories Leaf fans.
LA could trade prospects and draft choices while the Habs would have to trade less as they know he will sign with them long term, but I think that they would have to include Dach, an A prospect or their #1 draft pick at the deadline to keep this hometown boy away from the bright lights of NY or LA.

Exactly Verbal, that's why I'm saying these offers of less than what Dubois gets as a rental make no sense. Chevy just doesn't have a logical reason to consider them.

Could it happen? Well anything could happen. Is it likely? There's just no motivation for Chevy to sell low.

The player wants MTL, and the Jets will rightfully want a healthy return for an important player.

Acquiring Dubois this season hurts the MTL draft positioning, and thus, hurts them long-term.

MTL trading for Dubois doesn’t make sense. He’s not a “must-have” player, period. Some of the assets suggested to go back in trade ignore the fact MTL is rebuilding and in no position to sent multiple pieces back. They need as many good picks and prospects they can get.

As others have suggested, WPG is better off to trade him at the deadline to a team with Cup ambitions.

Regardless, there is zero incentive to send assets to WPG for a player the Habs new mgmt may not even have interest in. They should ignore all the noise, be a lottery team, and IF they want the player sign him when he’s a free agent. I see zero benefit to the Habs to trade for this player now or ever.

Totally agree with Memarcus and islandjet. Montreal is going to want Dubois by the start of next season to play with Huberdeau.
The habs should be concerned what the jets could get either this trade deadline or next.
If Dunois gets traded to the Rangers and decides he likes it he may not end up in a habs Jersey.
Copp got a first, second and Morgan Barron Dubois gets way more with a prorated 6 million cobtract.

Best case scenario for the Jets is if Dubois handles it the way Tkachuk did in Calgary and gives them a list of teams he'd be willing to sign long term with.
