Edm: Purcell, 3rd
Mtl : Eller
1.) Habs pass on Purcell
2.) I think Purcell could be useful for the habs mostly because he can play on the 1st line even if he isn't a 70 points per year forward. but montreal would probably need to trade for a 3rd line center if they give up eller

Buf : Plekanec
Mtl : Stewart
Florida : Emelin
Mtl : 3rd + 5th rd pick
Mtl lines :
pacioretty-desharnais- parenteau
Sekac - Galchenyuk (A) - gallagher

Moen

Tinordi - Gilbert
Beaulieu - Weaver
Pateryn
Price

Thoughts?
1.) If Josh Gorges and Jason Garrison can go for 2nd round picks so can Emelin. Plekanec may actually be an overpayment because he scores on a consistent basis unlike Stewart who scores inconsistently.
2.) Galchenyuk really isn't a leader and he has to mature before getting a letter.
3.) Buffalo wants to get younger not older, pleks is a good 2nd or 3rd line player but at 31 his best days are probably over , Stewart is entering his prime and his best days have yet to come.
4.) If you believe Stewart is a 3rd line RW then Plekanec is too much to offer for him, but IMO Murray views him as SBR 1st line RW, so Tim would have to say no to the offer.

mtl : Fucale + Plekanec + 2nd 2016
edm : Yakupov
Mtl : emelin + Nygren + bournival+ 1st 2015 + 2nd 2015 +
Chi : Sharp
Moen to anyone for a 6th
Sign Bouillon 1 yr 600k
Lineup :

Sharp - DD - gallagher
Sekac - Eller - parenteau
Weise- malhorta- bournival
Prust
Markov- subban
Beaulieu- Gilbert
Tinordi - weaver
Bouillon
Price
Budaj
Seems like a contender to me.
1.) Not enough for yakupov , change the 2nd to 2 1st. As for Sharp your 3 players listed couldn't even crack Chicago's line up.
26 Jul 2014 01:31:38
Emelin pleky and a 2nd to edmonton for yakupov
That way yakupov can play with galvhenyuk on the 2nd lind
1.) I would really like yaks but he hasn't proven that he is worth a 2nd line center, top 4 Dman, and a early pick yet.
2.) Seriously? plecky and emelin and a 2nd round pick for yakupov? put subban and price in the deal too.

Hey everyone,
Yesterday stamkos confirmed what bolts fans hoped and leafs fans hoped not to happen, he will sign in tampa.
But for how many yrs and $$$ do you guys think?
I think his deal will look like a 8yrs/100m $
1.) He will become the nhl's highest paid player when he signs his new deal
2.) 24 Jan 2015 16:28:46
Well, I think the official max is 20% of the salary cap, right? So if the cap for next season is around or slightly above 70m, that'd mean theoretically he could get around 14m per.
Toews and Kane got 10 million, I think.
While Toews as an overall player might not even be worse than Stamkos, I think Stamkos has more star power and will therefore demand and get a higher $ per.
8/100 would mean 12.5 per. I guess that's kinda realistic, although I obviously hope it's going to be closer to Kane/Toews.
I kinda hope that his "down" season this year (at least for his standards) helps bring down the AAV.
But I guess the 8 years are pretty much guarenteed.
Although you never know with Stevie Y, he has done surprising deals before.
3.) 24 Jan 2015 18:24:25
he won't get a max deal, but he'll be the highest cap hit in the league, and maybe highest paid overall depending on his bonuses. so i'd asume soemthign around 8 years X 12-13 mil.

Dear Bruins fans,
As a habs fan I think that what lucic did is completely unaccepatble, but what do you think about a member of your team doing that kind of stuff? I think that guys like that shouldn't even be playing in the nhl.
Ps : I love the leafs compared to the bruins
1.) 18 Oct 2014 05:24:19
lucic is the kinda guy fans of the team like, while everyone else despises. i, for one, like all the guys like that, mostly because seeing how much people can hate the guy makes me laugh.
2.) I used to like lucic until he turned into a big baby. It still makes me laugh when he's getting interviewed after being eliminated from the playoffs last year.lol
3.) What can you expect? He was merely affirming that the Canadians are #1. LOL. He is a bit of an animal who has been allowed to run goalies, threaten players during the series ending handshake, then have Chara step in when John Scott wanted to challenge him last year. We all know there is an unwritten code among hockey players. Part of that code is "you play rough, you have to fight". It is not in a rule book, it is not spoken even among players, they all know it. Lucic dishonors the code, dishonors hockey, dishonors sportsmanship, dishonors all athletes. I am sorry he ever won a cup, he does not deserve the glory of Lord Stanley.

brassard just signed with the rangers 5 yrs /25 million
1.) Ahaha he ain't worth 5 millions per year
2.) Thats a lot for him idk about him getting 5m a year
3.) 28 Jul 2014 07:27:07
pretty brutal
4.) 5 million seems to be the new 4 million.
It's funny bc salaries seem to have jumped by 15%-30% for new signings, but the cap only went up by 6%. Now you could argue:1) your core player get more of your payroll 2) the future value of this type of contract i. e. the contract signed today at $5 million is a bargain in the last few years and 3) one signing doesn't necessarily have a large impact on your pay roll (depending on the rest of your team).
However, it's a little troubling when you consider that gap.
17 Jun 2015 01:36:42
Boston has no cap for that
14 Jun 2015 12:42:35
Just throw 7 mill at hamilton and boston won't be able to match. You will have to give a first a second and third though but that's less than your offer
07 Jun 2015 14:30:03
I do like this trade.
07 Jun 2015 12:24:20
@bud hopes you are not serious in including price in the trade.
26 May 2015 22:53:39
Montreal would never do this.
Well let's comapare rentals to rentals
This year cole got 2nd+2 prospects
Last year vanek got 2nd+1prospect
So yeah the market is way higher than last year, and most players are already traded by today. (And the rangers, the boots, the wings, the bruins and the panthers amde a move so bergevin may be forced to do one to a high price)
Yeah minny would want a prospect a pick or a young player in return
No, because if they trade rask they'll continue missing the playoffs for the next couple pf years until subban reaches an elite level
Stephen Weiss 1st or 2nd line center? Are you kiding me?
I wish but I think tampa > montreal even if montreal will have a better regular season record than tampa
