Shayne Gostisbehere D (2.75/2years) (retain 2 million)

Arizona:

Nick Ritchie RW (2.5/2years)
Jake Muzzin D (5.625/3 years)

BIG NO from TO. This doesn't improve the Maple Leafs and gives up too much of their future for pieces they don't need.

They are in need of a Top-6 LW, not a RW and Muzzin and Holl are their Top 2 Penalty Killers and are also much larger than Gostisbehere and Stralman. There's no way they'd be interested in Eriksson (even 50% retained) over Ritchie either.

Maybe they send Mrazek in exchange for a Draft Pick to clear Cap Space if ARI isn't one of the 10 Teams on "Petr The Great's" No Trade List, but that's about it.

Edmonton:
Kyle Palmieri RW
Semyon Varlamov G

N.Y. Islanders:
Tyson Barrie D
Mikko Koskinen G
Kyle Turris C

LesHabitants

1.) 21 Jan 2022 15:28:06
Why does NYI do it though? They take on the two worst players in the trade just to give up the two best players in the trade lol.

2.) 21 Jan 2022 18:51:15
NYI does it to get out from under Palmieri's $5mil contract till the end of 2025 is my guess. He's only put up 1 Goal and 7 points in 25 Games = 0.28PPG and he's a -11. I think he would be a bad acquisition by the Oilers. If they want to take a big money risk, bring Brendan Gallagher back home to Edmonton instead.

Koskinen +? for Varlamov would definitely be of interest though and if it's Barrie, EDM should bring Scott Mayfield back in return to replace him, as he would be the BIG Shut Down D-Man the Oilers need. I don't see NYI being interested in taking Turris at all.

Otherwise Zach Parise and Prospects Aatu Raty, Samuel Bolduc and Bode Wilde are the other guys EDM could try to buy or pry from NYI.

Edmonton:
Alexander Georgiev G
Julien Gauthier RW
3rd 2022

N.Y. Rangers:
Mikko Koskinen G
Dylan Holloway RW
Philip Broberg D
2nd 2022

LesHabitants

1.) 19 Jan 2022 15:40:46
Does Georgiev even get a Cory Schneider (can’t think of any other comparable rights now) type return? Because that would equivalent to one of Broberg or Holloway. I know the Oil need to give to get a good goalie but this is a bad trade for them.

2.) 21 Jan 2022 00:08:20
LesHabitants probably meant Kaapo Kakko or Alexis Lafreniere instead of Gauthier and Filip Berglund instead of Broberg lol.

In any event, Holloway and Broberg aren’t going anywhere’s unless EDM gets greater value in return.

16 Jan 2022 23:25:02
Edmonton:
Tyler Toffoli RW
Brett Kulak D (50% retention)

Montreal:
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins C
Kyle Turris C
Philip Broberg D
Dylan Holloway LW

LesHabitants

1.) 17 Jan 2022 02:31:08
Montreal might go for that but I don't think Edmonton does it.

2.) 17 Jan 2022 04:05:18
^
I mean look at Edmonton’s record with RNH out.

3.) 17 Jan 2022 04:25:18
Montreal might? Lol that’s crazy lopsided.

4.) 17 Jan 2022 13:53:45
Bruh Nuge is worth Toffoli alone, why does Edmonton add their 2 best prospects lmao.

5.) 17 Jan 2022 14:09:32
Yes Please! Lol. no way Holland would do this . RNH is more valuable than Toffoli.

6.) 17 Jan 2022 21:59:38
I don't believe Kulak would be a big enough improvement over Koekkoek or Lagesson and the Oilers likely won't give up those prospects; certainly not RNH. Maybe something like:

Kailer Yamamoto + Raphael Lavoie + Kyle Turris + a 2nd RD Pick FOR Tyler Toffoli

Oilers don't quite have enough Cap Space, so would either have to play a 22 man roster, make another move to clear Cap Space OR try to convince MTL to take Derek Ryan for another cheaper Penalty Killing Centre like Laurent Dauphin or Lukas Vejdemo OR Cedric Paquette ($200k retained)

7.) 18 Jan 2022 13:19:31
Exceptionally generous to MTL.

16 Jan 2022 23:00:55
Calgary:
Brendan Gallagher RW

Montreal:
Sean Monahan C
2nd 2022 (Calgary)
2nd 2023 (Calgary)

LesHabitants

1.) 16 Jan 2022 23:30:51
For Toffoli or Anderson sure, but not for Gallagher. His contract is too much and for too long, he’ll be 30 here soon, he’s also small and injury prone, so thanks for thinking of us, but Calgary passes, even if it’s just for Monahan with no picks.

2.) 17 Jan 2022 02:31:38
What Trevor said.

3.) 18 Jan 2022 10:38:40
I’d take it if it was a one for one swap, but the picks are a little too much.

Toronto:
J. Iginla RW

Colorado:
3rd 2019
F. Corrado D

Toronto:
S. Doan RW

Arizona:
2nd 2019

LesHabitants

1.) 13 Jan 2017 23:57:59
Although Toronto has been impressive, they aren't cup contenders yet.
These guys need to go to Chicago., Washington., Pittsburgh at this stage in there career.

2.) 14 Jan 2017 00:19:14
NO

WE don't NEED OLD PLAYERS.

3.) 14 Jan 2017 00:32:35
Why would Toronto want thoes two imo there going to be bottom 3

4.) 14 Jan 2017 03:40:49
It's hard to magine the Leafs being bottom three when they're right around a playoff spot half way through the season. Like, do you expect some epic run of losing?

That said, I agree they don't have any use for Iggy or Doan.

5.) 14 Jan 2017 09:20:58
Shanky, me thinks he meant the players would end up on the 4th line.

6.) 14 Jan 2017 18:28:26
oops, that makes a little more sense.

7.) 15 Jan 2017 02:30:33
No I meant there going to hopfully win 10 of the next 40

12 Aug 2016 21:31:00
Oilers:

J. van Riemsdyk LW ( 4.2 mil x 2 yrs)
J. Gardiner D ( 4.05 mil x 3 yrs)
P. Holland C (1.3 mil x 1 yr)
F. Corrado D ( .600 mil x 1 yr )

Leafs:

L. Draisaitl C ( 1 mil x 2 yrs)
A. Ference D (3.25 mil x 1 yr)
D. Nurse D (1 mil x 1 yr)
N. Yakupov RW ( 2.5 mil x 2 yrs)

LesHabitants

1.) 12 Aug 2016 22:57:01
What a bad trade for the Oilers. Draisaitl and Nurse alone is worth more than what is being offered by the Leafs.

2.) 12 Aug 2016 23:03:39
This has got to be one of the worst like bruh that wouldn't even get Draisaitl.

3.) 12 Aug 2016 23:55:44
Worst proposal I've seen in a while. Please make the call and get it done.

How can we justify trading Galchenyuk for any top player in the league if we continue to play him on the 4th line and continue to say he under performs. We have to trade one head ache for another teams head ache.

Canadafinest is right!

Rumors has it that Alex Galchenyuk wants to be closer to his buddy Brad who cuts the grass for Babcock. They are very close and went to pre-school together. They bumped into each other over the summer while at the park. Brad was on the swing sets having the time of his life when Alex was swinging on the monkey bars, they locked eyes and have been inseparable ever since.
They do everything together Alex is looking for housing in GTA, with a back yard and grass so Brad can play and work at the same time.

Montreal: Lupul, Cowen and Greening

Toronto: Galchenyuk, Scherbak.
