TBL 19/20

Trades:

DET gets: F Ryan Callahan, F Alexei Lipanov, 2020 3rd rd pick
TBL gets: 2021 5th rd pick

Yzerman likes Callahan, he's overpaid obv but can still be a good 4th liner and mentor for the young F on DET. Wings pick up a solid C prospect and a 3rd rd pick in the process.

PHI gets: F Tyler Johnson, 2020 3rd rd pick (DET)
TBL gets: 2019 1st rd pick

Fletcher is aggressively turning the Flyers around, acquiring a skilled F who is on a fair contract. TB needs a shake-up after last years disappointment, saves some $ and gets the chance to draft late in the lottery.

OR:

CAR gets: F Tyler Johnson
TBL gets: 2019 2nd rd pick (BUF), 2019 2nd rd pick (NYR)

OR

CAR gets: F Tyler Johnson, 2019 1st rd pick
TBL gets: D Dougie Hamilton, 2020 3rd rd pick (BUF)

CAR has long been rumored to be interested in skilled Fs. They get one in Johnson. Hamilton has been rumored to be on the move again as well. TB adds a 1st there. If Hamilton isn' in the deal, TB trades Johnson for 2 2nd rd picks to shake things up and move out some $.

OR

VAN gets: F Ondrej Palat
TB gets: 2019 2nd rd pick, 2020 3rd rd pick

VAN adds a 2nd line W with strong defensive play, which is sth they could desperately use. TB - same as above - loses some $ and shakes the team up while gaining a couple mid picks.

Signings:

C Brayden Point
- 3 years: 6.25M AAV OR
- 5 years: 8M AAV OR
- 7-8 years: 9M AAV

W Adam Erne
- 1 year: 1M

F Danick Martel
- 1 year: 750k

D Anton Stralman
- 1 year: 3M

RW Justin Williams
- 1 year: 3.5M

Lineup (assuming Callahan -> DET, Johnson -> CAR w/out Hamilton, Point -> 5 year deal)

Miller (5.25M) - Stamkos (8.5M) - Williams (3.5M)
Palat (5.3M) - Point (8M) - Kucherov (9.5M)
Killorn (4.45M) - Cirelli (0.73M) - Gourde (5.17M)
Erne (1M) - Stephens (0.83M) - Joseph (0.73M)
extra: Martel (0.75M)

Hedman (7.88M) - Sergachev (0.89M)
McDonagh (6.75M) - Cernak (0.7M)
Coburn (1.7M) - Stralman (3M)
extra: Rutta (1.3M)

Vasilevskiy (3.5M)
Domingue (1.15M)

F: 53.71M
D: 22.13M
G: 4.65M
Total: 80.49M
Projected Cap: 82M
Cap Space left: 1.51M

Leaves TB with enough room to make 2 call-ups during the season or a trade later in the year.

Constructive feedback welcome, thanks for reading.

No from Philadelphia and Carolina the rest seem good.

2.) 20 Jun 2019 13:59:18
Why would a rebuilding team (Vancouver) trade picks away. not very well thought out IMO.

3.) 21 Jun 2019 00:27:23
It's "only" 2nd rounders and it's not forbidden for what you label rebuilding teams to trade a pick here and there to acquire an asset they could use very well. Seems like you're not following the NHL real closely. That was one very minor part of my entire proposal anyways lol.

To all the guys happily pointing towards state taxes as an advantage for teams in lower income tax states (prime example: delusional Leafs fans comparing FLA to ONT taxes), here is something for you to read and once and for all end this stupid narrative:

twitter.com/walsha/status/1307533460538445826

and

twitter.com/walsha/status/1307480088800182272

Player agent literally saying that "with sound tax advisors, a NHL player can actually pay the same or less tax in Canada than he will Florida or Vegas". There's more tweets on his timeline re: this topic. Read it and please no one ever mention state income taxes again, thanks.

Educate yourselves. You're welcome.

Ok so by using an rca and not being able to access half the money you make until after you retire and then moving to another country when you retire you can come out to about the same in the end as if you had Of just signed your contract With a Florida team then you Could have full access to all your earnings at anytime retire wherever you want and not have to worry about changes over time where a bank could rogue a large amount of your earnings like they have done several times in the past. The biggest poop disturbing agent out there says one thing and 30 more say something different. But you chose to go with the one that fits your narrative that’s fine. sorry if you and Allan Walsh haven’t convinced me yet though.

2.) 23 Sep 2020 07:29:43
Yeah, those poor star players only being able to access 5 of their 10m per year, damn. Hope they won't starve. Also, the RCA can make the money grow over the years (or at least ohalf of the RCA money, if I read that correctly) .
The sole point is to show, that the perceived tax advantage of Florida or Texas or Nevada or wherever teams is pretty much non-existant. If you use this as an argument for why your (not talking to you specifically, Habby, obv) Leafs are not up there with TB or Vegas, get better. Look for YOUR teams' mistakes instead of blaming it on tax stuff that isn't a thing.

3.) 23 Sep 2020 13:08:22
You can NEVER have to much money, money is power. It’s not about having money to eat it’s about parking a Bugatti in your garage plated in gold instead of the Lamborghini with the 5 million.

4.) 23 Sep 2020 16:49:33
It is still a thing though triplets most people would rather not have to go through all of this just to possibly come out the same in the end as if they just signed with a Florida team for example. also with changing markets and bank rates the numbers you have right now may not be the same as in say 10 years when they retire. Also a lot of Canadian players would rather play in the USA and retire back home in Canada then vice versa. Now I’m sure the rca might close the gap a little for those who are willing to do it but it’s definitely not for everyone. its not the only factor of course as nicer weather and less pressure in Florida also plays a part.

5.) 26 Sep 2020 08:52:38
Yeah, nicer weather, less pressure and MAYBE, just maybe, a top 3 run organization in all of NA pro sports along with playing for a team that has been a contender for more than 5 years already and looks like a team that will be a contender for 5+ more years, if we're using TB as an example here.
Just look at Shattenkirk. He didn't sign with TB because the 1.6 or whatever he makes get him an additional 50k at year's end compared to if he signed with TOR or whoever. But because he knew he could win a Cup and now he's 1 game away from it.

6.) 26 Sep 2020 16:05:53
I was looking at it in broader terms like as in the panthers can sign their share of free agents too. but if you want to turn this into a lightning fan page post I’ll just show myself the door.

7.) 26 Sep 2020 16:09:53
Also wasn’t Shattenkirk bought out a couple seasons ago. not real good example as teams were not really lining up to get him at that point.

8.) 30 Sep 2020 08:08:05
He was bought out because his contract was too big. How has that anything to do with teams being interested in him at a much lower cost?!
I bet almost any team woulda taken Shattenkirk at 1.5M.

9.) 30 Sep 2020 14:54:19
I bet most teams didn’t even try to sign him.

The one and only Finest decided to chicken out from our fantasy league mid-season, so if anyone is interested in taking over his team and play with us, let me know.
Team is solid, if you win with this team, it's also the ultimate proof that Finest was the only thing standing between his team and the word success.

I know we had someone interested before the season who we couldn't let in at that time because we were full, so if you or anyone else wants this team, comment below.

Thanks!

I'm in,

2.) 29 Oct 2019 09:03:38
Alright DM, you need to create a fantrax account with that email address first, before I can send you the invite. Let me know when you've done that and I'll send the invite.

3.) 30 Oct 2019 11:28:17
You have a fantrax account now? Need your mail adress again, Adminds deleted it

Anyone else interested? First come, first served.

4.) 01 Nov 2019 00:37:42
@The_Triplets
Wow, Finest is gone?

5.) 01 Nov 2019 17:31:43
He is, want to have his team? Lol
It's solid actually.

6.) 02 Nov 2019 13:27:33
marcandresaumur09@gmail. com,

7.) 02 Nov 2019 21:00:49
I need your fantrax username OR the email address you created your fantrax account with.

8.) 06 Nov 2019 01:23:43
I miss fantasy hockey and as stupid as it sounds, with them deleting the fantrax app from the app store it's gotten inconvenient for me to use.

Everyone was telling everyone that Johnson had negative value for years, so since that is apparently a thing and Connolly isn't worth anything either, you're saying Dach gets you Tkachuk and a 3rd? Sure.

So Coleman and Goodrow fetched a 1st+ and Palmieri goes for a 2nd at 50%? Gotcha, bud.

You're aware that if TB trades Killorn, it would be to save his cap? Also, value wise WPG probably declines, so a pretty bad trade all around tbh.

Might or might not be decent value at 1.8, but certainly isn't for TB. TB has young guys on ELC that can fill bottom 6 roles and it saves them 1M compared to Glendening, which is vital in their situation.
