NYI: Brock Nelson, Cammarattaand a 2nd
Reasoning- Look, I know that at first glance this might be a little unrealistic and the cap won t work, BUT nyi have GREAT young center man with Tavares, Lee, and Barzal. Min needs a center and can't afford or fit spurge next year with dumba, Oloffson, Rielly, etc. Vanek played terrific with the isle and just doesn't fit the system in minny. I think The isle come out on top of the deal, but mn gets much needed cap relief and a young centerman. Thoughts?

Horrible for the isles, both wild and Coiley have no idea what they are talking about. Vanes is overpaid and on the downside of his career, spurgeron at his best is an undersized 3rd pairing dman the isles do not need, they have that in Thomas Hickey.
Anders lee is not a center, he is a LW. Barzal is 2 years away from the nhl, and Nelson will be playing LW 2 to start the season. This trade does not help the isles in anyway, it would actually be a step backwards as they are giving up the top 2 assets in Nelson and a pick. Camaratta is a undersized fwd, with limited upside he does not effect the trade at all.

anyone who says vanek is old and overpaid is not wrong, but the islanders hade a LOT of cap space
