Without knowing how each team values those guys I think it's a good trade. They both swap position of need and value doesn't seem to far off.

OTTs wideman is the reigning AHL defenceman Of the 2014-15 season. he's like a torey krug (well almost. he's a puck moving offensive minded dman) he also made the roster this year. MacArthur can bring secondary scoring that CGY wants and Dennis Wideman will solidify our 2nd D unit with Ceci. Also, MacArthur 4.25 (next 4years) + Wideman 650k and D. Wideman is 5.25m. almost equal money in and money out.

If the Wideman from Ott is that great of a prospect (AHL defensman of the year. ) Then why would Ott trade him and a good winger for two years of an aging Wideman from Calgary?
