How do you purpose we afford his extension seeing as Tavares, Marner, Knies, Woll, and McCabe to name a few all need extensions?

Assuming Tavares signs at league minimum then they should have a ton of cap room. He’s in a similar situation to Spezza and Gio.

Tavares will likely take a pay cut but I don't think it's that big of a pay cut. I'd be thrilled if it was, but I don't think it will be. We'll still be cutting it close to the cap and still in the same place as we are this year. Something has to change though. I suspect Keefe and staff will be the first to go.

He’s in a more similar situation to Pavelski and Giroux. League minimum for him is insane unless he signs for a year because he thinks the Leafs are winning the cup next year.
