Blues: pietrangelo
Oilers need to wait till mcdavid comes back. Draistal is proving he can play centre.

Oilers: Fayne
Hawks: Bickel
Hawks need a dman. Also, Fayne is cheaper than Bickel. Oilers could need bickel's size.
Oilers in the summer could pick up someone like okoposo to replace yak.

Except yak is playing well now, fayne is no where near what bickell is worth so oilers pass.

Value wise I think this is pretty good but the only realistic one is the Chicago trade.

That's the thing. Yak is playing well now. Teams try to trade players when they have any worth and not the opposite. If you think oilers need yak more than a dman, then you have no idea.

I don't know if the blues or the oilers would say yes. However, oilers need a dman and I threw out pietrangelo as an example. What I'm trying to say is that if oilers want a strong dman, oilers need to trade someone valuable like Hopkins.
Also, I think if oilers put Hopkins name out there, I'm sure all teams would listen, including the blues. Plus, blues need a change. They can't get past the first round of the playoffs.

Petro is a top 10 defenseman in the league. RNH is not a top ten center in the league. The blues will not part with petro he has a great contract, he is in his prime, and he is signed for a long time. RNH doesn't hold as much appeal as you think he does. No offence but backes produces more than he does. Just not with points but with leadership and physicality. At this point the only Dmen the blues are going to move are Gunnerson and Possibbly Jaybo. If i were Oilers i would get Phaneuf. Strong Pyhsical dman capable of 25 + mins and pair him with nurse. Nurse will be a beast, Dmen take longer to develop.
Doug armstrong isn't going to just get rid of his talent unless he is made an offer he can not refuse. Unfortunatley blues have Statsny, Backes Lehtera, Steen, Fabbri, brodziak, Sobotka, (next year when his khl contract is done) And Barbashev in AHL. We just don't need RNH or really any player Badly enough to make that trade. I do however applaud that you did put up your 3rd best player and 3rd best dman. Its more than others do.

The first trade is unlikely but most EDM fans (like myself) would want it to go threw
Second trade would be a no from EDM, we now that McDavid is injured, but when he gets back we want him to play just like he did
Third trade is probably the best, maybe package Nikitin and go for a low pick. But Oilers don't need Fayne anymore with Nurse playing good.

The 2nd is a hell no for me mcdavid and yak are working really well together
The 3rd please make the trade and throw in Nikita I really want them gone.

Oilers will never be a playoff team until they have better defence.
Klefbom, nurse and Reinhart will probably be great dman, but they are young and need time.
Oilers forwards are getting older and soon the oilers will have cap issues. They need dman now.

other teams are not going to trade their best defence men on the team for multiple players or prospects. Usually you either can not get them or you have to vastly over pay them. I think you need to be patient keep you players nd picks and keep drafting better d prospects. its really the only way that's how th blues did it.
