Report:

The Buffalo Sabres have offered the Edmonton Oilers

Mark Pysyk
Zeemgus Girgensons

For

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

Oilers declined.
I say good play on Chiarelii's part.

Girgensons can't score, (71GP, 18P)

And Mark Pysyk has not been developed properly imo and is not the defenceman everybody thought he would become.

Thoughts? Would you accept?

Shattenkirk13

1.) 11 Jun 2016 04:27:39
Good thing Chiarelli is a smart man. That's not a good offer for Nuge.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 04:29:41
Naw, not enough for RNH.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 05:50:05
I'm sure if Buffalo wanted him, they would overpay. Because you know, it's Tim Murray.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 07:33:42
Girgensons isn't a flashy offensive forward he is a good 2 way forward who can get 15 goals a year. Pysyk isn't a bad d-man he hasn't been given the shot to play minutes he needs to play. I think if buffalo adds a pick it's close.

5.) 11 Jun 2016 18:25:09
I wanna see what jim bennings offer would be for nuge ;)

Arizona is interested in Pavel Datsyuk's contract.

He has one more year left at 5.5m per year and is probably not coming back to the NHL. pro

ARZ:
- Pavel Datsyuk
- Xavier Ouellet
- 2016 2nd
- 2017 2nd

DET:
- Christian Thomas

Thoughts?
Please post on 'NHL Talk'

This is just a thought.
Comment additions/ subtractions.

Shattenkirk13

1.) 11 Jun 2016 03:53:48
Way too much to get rid of Dats contract and its 7.5M u thought.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 04:09:44
@Bud. That's his cap hit.

I was just talking about base salary which is 5.5m per year.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 04:30:57
Heard Wings would be willing to move Jurco or Teemu Pulkininen if a team takes the Datsyuk contract.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 13:11:50
Uhh Datsyuk's contract is 7.5 million, not 5.5.

Buffalo:
- Rights to Jiri Hudler

Florida
- 2016 98th overall (4th round)
- 2017 6th round

Jiri Hudler is not re-signing in Florida that's for sure.
Buffalo needs a veteran scoring winger to play with Eichel.

No lol.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 04:12:35
@McJesus Christ

Thanks, that really helps my evaluation for future trade proposals.

''no lol. ''

3.) 11 Jun 2016 04:32:04
Well why would you post something about another UFA, and I'm sure you've seen the other 100 other posts about UFA rights and everyone said no. Even if it's late picks, they still hold value and it's not worth trading for somebody that you could just sign. Right? Hopefully that helps shatty.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 05:48:17
@McJesus Christ

True, but as every day passes their value goes down. It's not that simple ''just sign''. Thanks though.

10 Jun 2016 01:26:25
Arizona:
Auston Matthews
Brendan Leipsic

Toronto:
Dylan Strome
2016 7th overall
2017 1st round
Nick Merkley.

Shattenkirk13

1.) 10 Jun 2016 05:35:06
God no.

10 Jun 2016 01:12:11
Vancouver Canucks:
Ryan Callahan
2016 27th overall

Tampa Bay:
2016 3rd round
Chris Higgins

Vancouver has the cap to do this trade and i believe they can use a leader with great physical play. Vancouver also turns the 3rd into a 1st.

Tampa Bay can also resign Stamkos to the contract he wants now i believe.

Shattenkirk13

1.) 10 Jun 2016 17:46:43
Callaghan is barely worth a third, and Higgins is pretty much useless now.

2.) 10 Jun 2016 22:24:04
K callahan was pretty Damn good a few years ago I don't get how he's "useless" now and can barely get a Third haha like seriously can somebody tell me what happened.

3.) 11 Jun 2016 03:41:42
Canucks want to get Stamkos! They wouldn't help out Tampa to give them roster space.

Top 5 GM's In the League?

Top 5 Best 2-Way Forwards in the 2016 draft? (Matthews doesn't count)

Shattenkirk13

1.) 11 Jun 2016 07:03:46
These aren't really the top 5 GMs but on the top 5 GMs just with there history at their current teams. In no order btw.

Stan Bowman (CHI), Steve Yzerman (TB), Bob Murray (ANA), David Polie (NSH) and Jim Nil (DAL)

-Bowman, 3 cups. That's is all
-Yzerman has set his team up to be contenders even if they lose Stamkos. Lots of young good prospects in the system aswell.
-Bob Murrays team is always a contender. Also assembling a very good surplus of young defencemen to go along with 2 of the best forwards in the NHL. Great at trades aswell, Bobby Ryan in particular.
-Polie drafted many of there key players including Weber, Josi and Rinne. Also absolutely robbed Washington of Forsberg for a 1/ 4 year of Martin Erat. Still can't believe that.
-Tough picking a 5th but Nill had to make my list. Stole Seguin for pretty much nothing, given what he's done in recent years. Set his team up nicely and never seems to trade his 1st rounder away, which I really like in a GM.

2.) 11 Jun 2016 09:53:40
No Holland? Are you kidding me? The man has managed to ensure that his team has made the playoffs in over two decade and is the only one who went to the playoffs every season since the first lockout. If that doesn't bring you in the top 5 GM ranks you're nuts. Yes he has had good players but he has only had 10 first round picks and NEVER for the past 20 years drafted higher than 15 overall and he has only drafted in the top 20 four times over those 20 years. That's remarkable!

3.) 11 Jun 2016 10:46:12
Honestly sort of forgot about Holland. Chill out man, hop off his D. I haven't liked his recent decisions and that Abdelkader signing was meh, not that great. He has been outstanding for them in his time there but everything must come to an end evantually.

I guess if I re did my top 5 I'd throw him in and take BM out.

4.) 11 Jun 2016 12:42:05
Holland is the greatest IMO.

Leafs mock draft if they accept the rumoured ARZ deal.

7th Overall: Logan Brown (C
20th Overall: Riley Tufte (LW)
30th Overall: Alex Debrincat (RW)
31st Overall: Filip Gustaffson (G)
56th Overall: Luke Green (D)

Thoughts RND 1-2.

Shattenkirk13

1.) 10 Jun 2016 01:13:00
And yet you don't draft the leafs biggest need D. Your giving me a head ache Matthews is ours.

2.) 10 Jun 2016 01:39:36
I would think that they would tak Juolovi first since their defence is so bumhole.

3.) 10 Jun 2016 02:05:30
There not unless if some how the yotes include a future number 1 center in Strome.

Remember that's the first offer I feel like the ofer will end up being

Domi, Strome and 7th or 20th.

4.) 10 Jun 2016 04:42:30
@Bud.

Toronto is going nowhere next year and are almost for sure getting the top 3 pick. Imo, the defencesive talent is better next year than it is in this one.

Agree with @BJ96
Shattenkirk is a great and capable defenceman. But that's an overpay for a player who most likely isn't going to resign. Also, Shattenkirk won't play that well because Toronto's roster isn't good.

Leafs17

I'm not an oiler fan, but i bet you $10,000,000 Auston Matthews goes in the first round.

Buffalo is missing 1 more defender, 2 scoring wingers, and a starting goalie (assuming Lehner will get injured, which i'm sure he will) and a bit more depth and they are a playoff team.

Leafs are definitely farther.

Those aren't the only pieces involved in the ''rumour''. Buffalo won't accept it because they have a better roster than Toronto.

Toronto loses ''generational'' talent but fills more holes.

At 7th and 20th there are going to be great players available.
And next year you're probably going to get the #1 overall again and select Nolan Patrick who is a fantastic Canadian centre.

People need to stop with throwing around ''generational talent'' Connor McDavid is generational talent, Matthews is a great player no doubt, but not generational.
