Just thought of this:

WPG: Trouba (RFA)

MIN: Brodin (4.166)

As a base, who do you think should add. I personally think MIN should add a pick.

WPG top 4 D:

Byfuglien - Brodin
Myers - Enstrom

MIN top 4 D:

Suter - Trouba
Scandella - Spurgeon.

TheLoneRanger

1.) 18 Aug 2016 13:31:06
Minny doesn't need Trouba and his big ego.

2.) 18 Aug 2016 13:40:59
Doubt it happens, Brodin has a nice, safe contract comparing to Trouba's future one, but Minesota still adds a piece. But I just don't see why Minne would trade for a RD and not a center, I mean it looks wicked to pair Suter and Trouba up, but their real need is to get younger up front and from the looks of it, Minnesota can't have all 4 d-men come expansion time.

3.) 18 Aug 2016 14:38:13
On paper this seems to be a fair trade. Trouba has more upside, is more physical and is better offensively. The Wild wouldn't do this because they lack cap space and Trouba's contract situation would be a concern. Chevy will sign Trouba so this trade won't happen.

4.) 18 Aug 2016 17:01:56
Brodin is better and cheaper.

5.) 18 Aug 2016 18:36:53
I've watched Trouba since he was 17, had him on the ice with my team and never noticed an ego issue. I'd be very hesitant to give him up unless you are getting a sure win on the trade.

6.) 18 Aug 2016 19:30:07
I'm pretty positive jets will want more than just Brodin in return. Even if Trouba is demanding a monster contract and Brodins is nice.

7.) 18 Aug 2016 20:10:19
My big question would be if Brodin is good enough that the difference (likely, after Trouba signs) in salaries isn't about what it should be? Say 5.5AAV for Troubs. That diff of 1.4mil IMO is totally warranted. My opinion IS.

8.) 18 Aug 2016 20:11:54
* IS def weighted by seeing a lot more of Trouba then Brodin. Think i'm at least safe saying Trouba has a much higher ceiling.

25 Jun 2016 01:08:37
Oh my, well played by PC. Got to give it to him for the patience, Puljujarvi is exactly what they need.

TheLoneRanger

1.) 25 Jun 2016 02:09:50
Before people cry about not taking a Dman, learn about hockey. Oilers RW depth was even worse than their defenseman. Unbelievable pick. Oilers needs a big heavy right shot to play with McDavid. If Chia couldn't find a trade for the pick, so be it. Eberle and Yak are as good as gone now. Helps even more with the Expansion draft too.

2.) 25 Jun 2016 04:56:50
Agree, Beast. If Oil ended up with Tkachuk at 4th I would have been pretty meh about it. They've got too much LW and not enough RW. Then this happens. Oil obviously need D and can still make that happen, but a 6'3" hulking winger who can skate, pass, and score and has gotten comparisons to Jamie Benn? No complaints here. I was ecstatic.

Apparently if Pul hadn't slipped to 4th the Oil were ready to trade down and snag Sergachev, which I wouldn't have been sour about either, but this is sits even better with me. Even without winning the draft lottery the Oilers kinda won.

06 Jun 2016 13:27:02
EDM: RNH (6) and 32, 2016

MIN: Dumba (RFA), Coyle (3.2) and 15, 2016.

TheLoneRanger

1.) 06 Jun 2016 16:03:40
Not giving up Coyle. He had 22 goals and should build off that next year. I really want Nuge but that's too much for him.

2.) 06 Jun 2016 17:22:38
Seems like maybe a little bit too much from the Wild but deffinatly one of the better Wild/ Oilers trades in the last while.

3.) 06 Jun 2016 18:01:27
I guess it might be but looking at other teams with closing windows like the Rangers. Teams in need tend to overpay some for upgrades. However i agree that the Oilers might have to add something/ someone. Maybe a guy like Yakimov or an early 3:rd or mid to late 2:nd. It all depends on how much the Wild want RNH.

16 Mar 2016 18:44:08
Hey guys what so you think of this as a base?

EDM: RNH

MIN: Dumba

Who adds and what?

TheLoneRanger

1.) 16 Mar 2016 19:48:59
Min adds as for what probably a 2/ 3 line forward to replace nuge so Haula or zucker.

2.) 16 Mar 2016 21:06:45
Min adds.

3.) 17 Mar 2016 04:29:00
Minnesota can ot afford cap that RNH carries.

25 Jan 2016 21:05:41
Trade 1 (offseason) :

EDM: RNH, 1:st 2017 (lottery protected becomes a 2:nd in 2017 and 2018 if not a first) (6)

SJS: Burns (5.75)

Trade 2:

EDM: Fayne (3.625)

CHI: Bickell (4)

Let me know what you think! (caphit)

TheLoneRanger

1.) 25 Jan 2016 22:44:38
Im a huge Burns fan, but don't like the idea of giving up a potential 1st line centre and a 1st for him. Especially since I think his contract is up in a year or two.

2.) 25 Jan 2016 23:03:43
why would the sharks trade burns.

3.) 25 Jan 2016 23:51:15
I little bit of overpayment for burns. Maybe a 2nd rounder Instead of the 1st.

4.) 26 Jan 2016 01:36:27
San Jose doesn't need Nuge and I think it might be an over payment.

5.) 26 Jan 2016 01:37:59
RNH is equal to Burns, do don't believe Edmonton needs to add a good draft pick. And the second one is just blah lol.

How my Vegas Golden Knights would look like (without trading) .

Dadonov - Shipachev - Radulov
Neal - Marchessault - Oshie
Perron - Grigorenko - Strome
Boedker - Lewis - Grabner

( - Burmistrov - Stempniak)
(De La Rose - Shinkaruk - Bennett)
(Dano - Gaunce - Rychel)

Johnson - Dumba
Hamhuis - Vatanen
Del Zotto - TVR
7th: Wideman
(Reinhart - Koekkoek)

Fluery - Mrazek
(Subban - Ullmark)

This team got 225 goals last year (counting Dadonov and Shipachev as 0) that would have been 15th place last year. And with this D and goaltending they could actually make the playoffs.

I know this won't happen but i think it's fun to see what the could look at. Only player that's unlikely would play for LV is Oshie because I don't think it too far fetched to believe Radulov price himself out of Montreal and signs with fellow russians Dadonov and Shipachev.

TheLoneRanger

1.) 21 Jun 2017 22:42:46
Don't think this works with the cap.

2.) 22 Jun 2017 06:36:42
It does without Radulov, Dadonov and Oshie signed they have over 20 millions in cap, so yes it works with the cap. I would also trade Stempniak and Burmistrov for a prospect/ pick to gain more capspace.

11 Aug 2016 07:15:26
Everybody bashing on the Oilers but I can't helt but feel bad for their fans. Sure they have won 4 draft lotteries, but 3 of those were whitout a clear cut first overall. Sure the got Hall, Nugent-Hopkins, Yakupov and McDavid (probably the best player in the world) . But they missed out on Stamkos, Tavares, Ekblad and Matthews.

TheLoneRanger

1.) 11 Aug 2016 13:49:20
Seriously they got mcdavid maybe if they drafted better outside the first round they wouldn't be in such a bad position.

2.) 11 Aug 2016 18:02:20
I agree with colt for once 😂.

3.) 11 Aug 2016 23:39:13
Just because i'm Biased about my team doesn't me i don't know hockey or pay attention to other teams. But my Bias create so much hate lol.

03 Aug 2016 21:55:26
Edmonton Oilers 2016/ 2017

Make McDavid captain (he's ready everything else is just BS, it's his team)

Put Ference on LTIR or he'll retire.

Trade 1:

EDM: Reinhart, Sekera (5.5) and 2:rd 2018
WPG: Trouba (RFA)

Why?
WPG has to many RHD with Trouba, Byfuglien and Myers (they are all top 2-4, waste of talent) however they could use a top 4 LHD and a LHD prospect. They also get an extra draftpick because of Sekeras NMC. Edmonton does this because they need offensive/ two-way RHD.

Re-sign:

Trouba 33 millions / 6 years (5.5)

FA:

Milan Lucic 42 millions / 7 years
Jonas Gustavsson 0.8 million / 1 year

Waivers:

Antione Vermette 3.75 / 1 year

Lineup:

Lucic (6) - McDavid (0.925) -Eberle (6)
Draisaitl (0.925) - RNH (6) - Puljujarvi (0.925)
Pouliot (4) - Vermette (3.75) - Yakupov (2.3)
Maroon (1.5) - Letestu (1.8) - Kassian (1.5)
Ex: Hendricks (1.85) and Lander (0.9)
Total: 37.375

Larsson (4.166) - Klefbom (4.1)
Trouba (5.5) - Davidson (1.45)
Fayne (3.625) - Nurse (0.863)
Total: 19.854

Talbot (4.16) - Gustavsson (0.8)
Total: 4.96

Total: 62.189
Cap: 73
Cap space: 10.811

Doesn't need to be protected: McDavid, Nurse and Puljujarvi

Protects: Lucic, Eberle, Draisatl, RNH, Trouba, Klefbom, Larsson, Talbot, Yakupov and Puoliot

The Oilers either trade Davidson mid-season or trade Las Vegas a 3:rd for not picking him.

TheLoneRanger

1.) 03 Aug 2016 23:56:20
Makes no sense for Winnpeg Sekera has almost Negative value because of the Expansion draft.

2.) 04 Aug 2016 00:05:11
It is a one sided trade that the Jets wouldn't make. Sekara is a 30 year old 5/ 6 d-man on a good team and Reinhart can't crack a horrible Oiler defense. The draft pick is not needed by the Jets as they have the best prospect pool in the NHL. Trouba is worth way more than that. It would take a young, top 3 left shot d-man for Chevy to pull the trigger.

3.) 04 Aug 2016 00:06:51
Eventhough I consider trouba to be overrated every other nhl team would offer a better deal then that for him.

4.) 04 Aug 2016 00:48:53
I think the pick would have to be a 1st for Winnipeg to even consider.

5.) 04 Aug 2016 02:17:55
And what would make you think WOG would want that overpaid heap of nothing for trouba?

I am of the opinion that trouba is overrated on this site, but come on.

6.) 04 Aug 2016 04:01:34
Agreed that Jets say no but Reinhart can't crack a deep left side. And I completely agree that on a team with a crowded blueline Sekera's NMC has huge negative value, but I'd consider him a #4 D. Also there's no chance the Oilers protect Pouliot.

7.) 04 Aug 2016 14:29:23
Okey Shankar i agree with you on a lot of stuff but Sekera isn't a overpayed nobody. The had 30 points in 81 games, the only defenseman on the Jets that had more was Byfuglien who had 53. On a better Jets team he would probably get around 40.

But how about a sweep of Sekera and a 2:nd for Myers (trade for both teams needs) .

WPG gets a LHD top 4

EDM gets a RHD top 4

Same caphit and all.

8.) 04 Aug 2016 15:41:53
LoneRangeer you are delusional to think Sekera and a 2nd is worth Myers. Not a chance he would be a top 4 on the Jets. His 6.5 mil a year contract doesn't expire until 2021 when he will be 35. Myers is 26 and has a 3 year contract worth less than $4 mil per year. Let Edm. keep their $6.5 million dollar old man. Jets laugh and hang up the phone.

9.) 04 Aug 2016 16:28:48
islandjet, good to know that you have your facts strait. Sekeras cap is 5.5 the exact same caphit as Myers. Yes Myers is younger and have a higher upside (RH and younger) but the Jets need a LH top 4. Do you seriously think that Myers gets you more than a top 4 D and an (probably) early 2:nd?

Please tell me what you think Myers would get in return.

10.) 04 Aug 2016 17:29:56
Sekera is a top 4, but barely. Actually, he'd be rightly classified as a #4. Not many teams can or should spend 5.5 mil on their fourth best defenceman. I believe he also has a NMC, which is more of a deal now than any other year because if the looming expansion draft.

Calling him "nothing" may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but his contract as a whole is very detrimental to the team that has to honour it.

11.) 04 Aug 2016 17:34:40
Yeah I'd say Myers gets more than a down grade and a 2nd round pick. But yeah who exactly would be ahead of Sekera on the left side in Winnipeg?

12.) 04 Aug 2016 18:39:09
I just don't see the Jets trading for an older Sekera who is an average d-man on a horrible oilers defense. There would be way more teams trading for Myers than Sekera. The Oilers would have to trade Puljujarvi or Draisaitl to get Myers who would then be the oilers #1 d-man. I know you think that's crazy but from the Jets point of view good right shot d-men are hard to come by and the Jets wouldn't want any of the Oilers d-men. Trouba, Enstrom, Chiarot, Postma and Morrissey would be ahead of Sekara on the Jets. he is old and just isn't that good. If he was that good Ed fans wouldn't be peddled him on this post. There is a reason Ed is in the bottom of the league year after year, overrating their players. Notice how Jet fans don't try to make ridiculous trades on this site, just react to fans of teams trying to rob the Jets by offering overrated old players for younger good players.

13.) 04 Aug 2016 21:29:08
Edmonton has been in the bottom of the league because there fans over value there players? Lol and notice how you just over valued a few of your own? Enstrom is literally older than Sekera and had less points. And get real if you think Sekera would be playing behind Postma and Chiarot. And I don't even like Sekera! Not disagreeing with the fact that Jets say no but your acting crazy. Shankar nailed exactly why the Jets say no.

14.) 04 Aug 2016 21:32:03
Also the Jets wouldn't want Klefbom, Nurse or Davidon for your weak left side?

15.) 04 Aug 2016 22:09:52
You are vastly overrating the players on your team islandjet.

16.) 05 Aug 2016 00:41:53
Think about it this way even tho Myers> Sekera and 1st

Win Protects

Sekera (NMC), Enstrom (NMC) and Big Buff (NMC)
Then they lose Trouba to Vagas

Sekera may actually be a future buy out Candidate.

17.) 05 Aug 2016 02:37:37
What a surprise. Is Sekera now following into the category of over-valued oilers players, joining Pouliot, Yak and Reinhart wow. Sekera isn't that good (still a top 4) but I'd stay away from his contract.

18.) 05 Aug 2016 06:52:41
Didn't know about Enstroms NMC my original idea was that WPG would protect Byfuglien, Myers (or Trouba) and Sekera (Sekera is younger, cheaper and better than Enstrom) . From what i know WPG has nobody else on D that needs or should be protected.

19.) 05 Aug 2016 16:27:40
At this point in time and after this trade (they obviously wouldn't make it) they have to protect 4 D. 2 NMC's and Touba and Myers.

20.) 05 Aug 2016 19:41:21
Enstrom will probably be bought out in the offseason anyway because even if the Jets don't trade Trouba and keep him they're still going to have one of their valuable RHD available Trouba/ Myers. Unless they do 8 skaters, but even then they risk losing a valuable forward like Dano or Perrault.

18 Jan 2016 21:30:19
Is it just me or is "russian tank" the new "montrealfinest" or did the guy just get sick of the Habs and switch to the Blues?

TheLoneRanger

1.) 18 Jan 2016 21:50:49
He's montrealfinest without the translation problems, which makes it even better because i can understand exactly what he's saying.

2.) 18 Jan 2016 23:06:35
It's just you. It seems for the most part he's sick of oiler fans thinking their players are worth gold yet finish dead last year after year. I'm sure all the 1st overalls will pay off some day, but I've been thinking this for a few years now.

3.) 18 Jan 2016 23:02:38
At least "Montrealfinest" was funny.

4.) 19 Jan 2016 04:52:07
Tell me more Leafs17.

5.) 19 Jan 2016 06:12:53
What else would you like to hear? I thought I covered everything. There's a few of you, like other teams fans, that want the world for average players. There's a couple of you that have never posted a trade, yet tear into everyone on this site for theirs. There's one of you that cried foul for 6 months last year that the leafs were "tanking. " Not sure if some of you were around for that debacle. Maybe Babcock sent in the goons to take out JVR so they could beat Edmonton to the bottom and land Mathews. All of you worship the ground your fearless spokesman walks on, ignorance and all. I'm sure there's a couple oiler fans on this site that don't fall into theses categories.

6.) 19 Jan 2016 15:28:30
You guys.
I think he's talking about me! 😧.

7.) 19 Jan 2016 17:56:09
Chirp maybe you should strive to be more like a leafs fan.

8.) 19 Jan 2016 21:39:02
Striving to be like leafs fans is what we should ALL do :)

11 Jan 2016 21:57:48
I was thinking about a trade for RHN so I wonder which teams with an overload of defense that would need a player like RHN. Was thinking about Nashville but they traded Jones so there for they are pretty much out. I feel like the Oilers need a true #1 defenseman so I don't think they should trade for young talent. Was thinking about the Sharks and Burns but i'm not sure about how their D-core look. Any suggestions? They could also go for Buff in the FA if he goes there but it would cost!

TheLoneRanger

1.) 12 Jan 2016 00:08:37
They need a right handed big minute D man.
Hamonic or Shattenkirk are just so ideal for them. And the key word there is right handed, they have so many lefties right now. Hopefully they can land someone tho.

2.) 12 Jan 2016 00:51:03
they'd be best served to get a guy that's about 23-16 years old, but that's an ideal case and likely not a reality. SJ doesn't really have a surplus of defence, as after burns and vlasic who are both very good, they have decent depth but not anyone of great quality. essentially, their defence is very well built as it stand, but subtracting burns would leave them rather weak. regarding buff, i don't think EDM would pursue him. He will command, and get, significant money and term and EDM isn't really in a position to give him that due to current contract obligations and future raises to the likes of mcdavid and nurse. it would leave them with a possibly very bad situation in the near future, especially if Buff starts to become less effective, which could possibly be sooner rather than later due to both his style of play and his conditioning issues.

3.) 12 Jan 2016 02:09:22
If burns goes, it's in the offseason. The guy is a beast and I'd hate to see him go but RNH is a good young centre. But Minnesota or St. Louis are both looking for a 1C.

4.) 12 Jan 2016 03:19:17
If Buff reaches FA, they need to throw a lot of money at him because they likely won't find a better dman via trade. They'd have to move someone to open cap space that will eventually be tight once McD and Drai reach the end of their elc's, but moving RNH and/ or Eberle would solve that pretty easily.

Outside of that, maybe you try and talk Anaheim into trading within their conference and try to get Fowler.
