Why would Edmonton want to do this?
They currently have a problem with centre depth - so your proposal is that they trade away their 23 yr old #1 centre for what could be best descrbed as a #2 option whos 29 and an overprised, undersized scoring winger (who they already have too many of.
This makes the Oil worse - but I guess the only thing that surprises me is that your not asking them to include there first pick.

easy no from edmonton. Hopkins has been there most consistent player and is rounding into a solid first line centerman. If I was edmonton I would look to trade Hall before Hopkins or even Eberle because of his injury history and they would be able to get a solid package for him. Trading Hopkins would be a mistake as Bozak has proven to not be a first line center, Draisaitl hasn't proven anything at the nhl level, and the rest of the centers on the rosters aren't good enough to be a solid second line guy.

this trade does make sense cause they do get a centerman and a winger. The leadership of phil kessel with help and with the oilers getting McEichel, they the centres would be mceichel, bozak, and draisitl.

If this deal happened the oilers would have 9 forwards taking up 38.4 million in cap room
(Kessel, bozak, hall, Eberle, Purcell, pouliout, Gordon, Hendricks, gazdic) + nail yakupov, matt Fraser and nail yakupov are RFA's. How do the oilers fix the huge hole in net, the two huge holes on the blue line if they make this deal?

Ya it's not like Edmonton with all the great leaders they have.
6-7 years in a row of finishing bottom 5 of 30 in the standings takes leadership skills that phil kessel simply does not possess.
Oh no kessel will lead us to the bottom of the standings hahaha
