Konovalov is a 23 year old Russian goalie prospect. He’s been playing pro for 4 years already. He has lots of promise and would make a good Russian tandem with Shesterkin in a couple years.

Konovalov will likely end up being the better goalie though…. So much to give up for a guy that’s still only averaging about a 3.00GAA and 0.910Sv%, but who knows, Oilers are desperate so I’ll put it as believable, but that doesn’t mean I think they should do it though.

Semyon Varlamov for Koskinen + Two (2x) 2nds would probably be better till Skinner or Konovalov are ready to be Starters.

Yeah I just looked and his save percentage has actually gotten worse every single season. Lol he’s maybe not the best option but he’s younger and cheaper than Varlamov. Maybe lower the 2022 pick to a 4th?
