Leafs imo will be looking at improving upfront and defense, in my proposal this fixes one of the 2.

Kraken taking a step back this season as making the playoffs probably won't happen, they add a good young player in Holmberg and prospect in Moldenhauer in this proposal, Reaves has to be part for Cap Reasons and he will play on the 4th line giving Seattle added toughness.

Why? If we are talking to Seattle about their players it should be for a defenseman. We have enough players who can play in the top 6/ 9. We do not need to add another one. Scoring isn't our issue, our play in our own zone is. Larsson, Dunn, Oleksiak, or Dumoulin would all be great additions to our defense. Bellemare would be another great pick up as he is a great faceoff guy, penalty killer, and has some valued winning playoff experience.

- yet another trade for a player the leafs don't need, for players the other team won't want.

- the leafs have $34,999 in deadline cap space. It will require skill to make even modest additions.

- this move puts the leafs over the cap by 565K.

- Eberle has a M-NTC that he'd have to waive.

Players with a 10 team no trade pick those teams before season. Not asked at trade time if its ok unless an offer from a team on that list. Eberle has 16 team but doubt Toronto is on it. Full no trade are the only guys to kibosh trades outright. All the people saying they'd have to accept, that's only if the team is on the list submitted before season started or can be traded without even mentioning it to the player.

SHOOTS: I pointed out the NTC as a consideration. I think this trade doesn't happen for the other reasons, but it's relevant to note.

Balsam. Just because Toronto is the center of the hockey universe. McCabe had 7 team no trade with every Canadian team on it, waived for Toronto. Depends on the player but you think Toronto was domi's best payday? Some like me hate the smell of Toronto so depends but if you pick half the league, Toronto isn't gonna be on the no list. Them and nyr players feel a need to make there grandfather proud.

Shoots, by any measure, that’s a pretty Homer response. Not sure what qualifies Toronto as the “center of the hockey universe” other than bias and the fact the national media are based there.
