The only reason Canucks do this is due to their cap issues for this season and next. This deal is assuming Markstrom gets signed otherwise it's not an option.

Boeser and Demko are both under 25 and you need a mix of youth and experience. Can't have all youth - if you do then you become the Oilers. IMO, I can see it happening but who knows...

Makes no sense for EITHER team.
VCR just had an exciting run. why would they consider trading their young stars?
OTT is rebuilding. why would they trade their high pick and Tkachuk when their owner is clearly cheap?

Canucks will have cap issues when they have to re-sign Petterson and Hughes. Otherwise this type of trade would be unlikely. Boeser is a 30+ goal guy and over 60 points/season. Demko looks like a real #1 goalie. Both are young (Brock is 2 years older than Tkachuk and Demko is 3 years older). Boeser scores way more than Tkachuk too.
