Tanev is a UFA as pointed out above and Boeser is a good player, but doesnâ€™t help the leafs at all. They donâ€™t need scoring wingers, they need some sandpaper for a middle 6 and top 4 D.

Nylander for Boeser would work as a change for 2 players but I think leafs would stick to the guy they signed long term rather than have to negotiate with Boeser in a year.

I think boeser is a bit higher for me than nylander right now, but if I was a leafs fan I'd stick with what you know.

Can sign tanev, or get his rights and talk to him first, but i think he'd take a team discount to stay in van. Everywhere else pays a bit more.

The cost for Pietrangelo will be to high. Toronto will go with the next best option in Dumba. The Toronto then flip players with Buffalo.

MIN: Nylander (Can play center)
TOR: Dumba

BUF: Johnsson
TOR: Montour

Its a fair trade for Dumba but I can't see Buffalo making that trade.

These are pretty good value wise but that would be 3 of the leafs top 6 forwards traded so far. For a team that has lacked secondary scoring that would just make things worse.

Nylander would be the only guy traded from their actual top 6. When all healthy Kapanen and Johnsson were 3rd line with Kerfoot. Mikheyev and Hyman mostly played top 6 with Matthews, nylander, marner and Tavares.
