No way, Byram has considerably more value than Drouin at this point. Not that drouin isn’t valuable just not as much as Byram. I would think if the aves wanted drouin they’d be more likely to trade something centered around jost or kaut or something along those lines.

29 May 2020 18:14:57
I don't see Colorado giving this any consideration.

29 May 2020 22:12:19
Drouin would look good on MacKinnon's wing.

29 May 2020 22:03:44
Colorado laughs.

30 May 2020 04:40:49
Mertle while I agree Byram may be valuable to the Avs, I somehow doubt he is more valuable than a top 6 winger. Not with Graves and Girard both ahead of him on the depth charts. Look at the Avs top 6

Landeskog-McKinnon-Rantanen
Jost-Namestnikov-Donskoi

Jost is a serivcable second line winger but really should be a third liner same as Donskoi. Insert Drouin in the top 6 and the Avs have a top six that can rival Toronto, Tampa and Pittsburgh. Drouin right NOW has more value to the Avs then a 3rd top 4 LHD. The Avs need help up front not on the back end. Would it cost Montreal more than Drouin possibly but I don't think Sakic hangs up or laughs at a straight up deal. Perhaps Sakic suggests Graves or Girard for Drouin but those 2 are already established top 4 NHL dmen so why not give up the prospect rather than mess with the chemistry on D.

30 May 2020 12:50:30
Once again, I’m a habs fan but I don’t think Drouin is worth Byram at all. I would be willing to add a pick or prospect to get that young LHD tho. But imo Drouin is not a great hockey player, he has 70 point potential be I don’t think he’ll be a 70 point guy ever. He’s 25 and looking like a bust for what he was projected to be.

30 May 2020 14:39:31
Lmao you obviously don’t watch the aves if you think that’s their top 6. Where’s Kadri and Nitchuskinin.

31 May 2020 00:29:41
Considering I live in Ontario and we only get to see 2 or 3 Avs games a season, No I don't see much of the Avs! Plus you seriously think Kadri is a top 6 player?! That's hilarious!!! Kadri is a great 3rd line Centre but play him higher than that and he costs more goals than he gets cause he takes too many dumb penalties. Also I know I put in Namestnikov but I was actually thinking of Nitchuskinin my bad on that one. Even with that mix up it still means 2 players are playing above their heads whether it is Donskoi, Kadri or Jost! Drouin easily has more natural ability and higher skill than any of them!

31 May 2020 16:46:21
Jost is on the 4th line lmao he has not fit in with the aves and is a slow skater. Kadri played 2C for the whole season last year. You know nothing about the aves so don’t comment.

31 May 2020 19:52:15
No sense being a jerk VB.?

01 Jun 2020 00:08:57
Really your telling me not to comment when you know nothing about player values but you constantly post moronic trades that even a two year old would never accept! Yeah ok I am going to listen to you!!! By the way I never said Kadri didn't play on the second line I said he was not ideal on the second line! You need to understand the difference! You tell me which lineup is better

Landiskog-McKinnon-Rantanen
Nitchuskin-Kadri-Donskoi

Or

Drouin-McKinnon-Donskoi
Nitchuskin-Landiskog-Rantanen

Is it better to have 3 90-100 point players on one line and having a second line of 50-70 point guys OR having 2 lines with 2 70+ point players with one 50-70 point guy who could reach 80+ under the right circumstances? Basically would you rather have a top line heavy team Edmonton and Boston or a lethal top 6 like Toronto and Tampa? Forget the defenses cause Toronto's may as well be Swiss cheese! Personally I would rather have a Top 6 that is basically a 1a and 1b option than a 1st and 3rd Line. So even if I don't know what the Avs lines are I do know their player quality unlike you Vbbbvvbb who just thinks they know everything but rarely knows anything!

01 Jun 2020 05:37:56
I love how Vbbbvvbb says Drouin is not worth 1 prospect straight up but in another thread says Drouin for Jost + Zadorov + Kamanev + a third is fair value! Make up your mind already either he is good enough to get a package of 4 players 3 of which are roster players or he isn't good enough to even get a single prospect!

Vbbbvvbb if Drouin won't get Byram then what would it take? Drouin + Romanov + 1st right!!!

Fair value for Byram would be Romanov straight up! Both are top pairing puck moving Dmen! Both are in the top 5 on TSN's list of NHL affiliated prospects list! Byram has been pretty invisible at the WJR where as Romanov won top Dman last year and was still one of the top Dmen this year. Byram was a top 5 pick but Romanov has played 2 years against men in the 2nd best league in the world so he is a proven player! Value wise Romanov for Byram would be even. So then let's use Romanov as the example. Would your previous Leafs give up Nylander straight up for Romanov? Absolutely they Would not! Would the Habs do it if they already had 3 top 4 LHD on the roster 2 of which just signed long term extention like Graves and Girard absolutely they Would! Byram for Dròuin is like Nylander for Romanov. While Romanov's value is high it's not Nylander high right now because he has not played a game in the NHL! Prospects are not usually worth more than their draft position i.e. Byram is worth a 1st unless that prospect is a McDavid, McKinnon, Crosby or Matthews type player until they play in a professional league against men and do not look out of place. Drouin for Byram would be a steal for the Avs! Drouin on the open market would fetch a 1st + a prospect + middle six roster player. Remember you have to give skill to get skill!

01 Jun 2020 16:03:06
Byram>Romanov based on age, pedigree and offensive potential also yes Jost, Zandorov and 3rd is a good Package for Drouin. Kamenev May be an overpayment. Byram>>>>>>>that package. Zandorov is the odd man out in Colorado he will be moved this offseason probably worth a 2nd. Jost also hasn’t fit in well probably slightly more valuable the Puljujarvi and 3rd is a 3rd. Kamanev is a throw in.

01 Jun 2020 19:34:54
It was actually Burakivsky with Kadri and Donskoi all year. Just saying.

02 Jun 2020 04:28:50
Byram is 1.5 years younger not 5 or 10! Both Byram and Romanov have are expected to be top 2 dmen with the low end of a #3. Both have the potential of putting up big numbers but your right Byram is projected to put up slightly higher numbers. Both Byram and Romanov have been compared to Doughty in style with Byram having more of an edge in offensive output because Romanov has not been allowed to play that style outside of the WJR where he was in the top in points among defensemen both years. Either way they both have really high ceilings which makes their values close to equal. If you want a link to the comparisons I can post them for you so you know it's not just me saying that! But with the Habs in need of a top 4 Dman and the Avs not in need of one Romanov is more valuable to his club than Byram. I am in no way saying that Byram is not valuable just that the Avs already have 2 top pairing Dmen in Graves and Girard so Byram is not AS valuable to the Avs. More likely one of Girard or Graves gets moved but if Sakic was offered Drouin or Nylander for Byram he would probably try and work out a deal. He would definitely be looking for more from either Toronto or Montreal just because he wants the BEST possible trade but he wouldn't necessarily balk at the straight up deal for either.

02 Jun 2020 04:51:52
St.LouisFan ok even if the second line is Burakovski-Kadri-Donskoi would it not be better to line up with

Burakovski-McKinnon-Rantanen
Drouin-Kadri-Landiskog

Than

Landiskog-McKinnon-Rantanen
Burakovski-Kadri-Donskoi

To me it would be better to only have 1 player playing above his head than 2 as it is now. Like I said before Kadri is a great 3rd line center and servicable as a 2nd line center for injuries. Donskoi is a 3rd line winger and an ok fill in if injuries occur in the top 6. If the Avs want to compete with the likes of Pittsburgh, Tampa, Toronto and Washington they need an upgrade to the top 6. Drouin could be an option and if there the offer was straight up for Byram, I think Sakic would ask for a 2nd or 3rd but it would not nessessarily be a deal breaker if MB said no.
