Crazy Goalie Roulette idea:

Vegas Trades:
Fleury($7 mill) , 2021 1st

Detroit Trades:
Bernier($3 mill), 4th 2021

Vegas saves. $4mill in cap this year and $7mill the next. gets back up for Lehner. Detroit gets a draft pick much needed. Fleury waives because of the following.

Detroit Trades:
Fleury (50% retained $3.5 per)

Pittsburgh Trades:
Jarry ($3.5) + 2021 1st

Pittsburgh runs a Fleury-DeSmith tandem to compete and keeps their forward group intact by moving the underperforming goalie. Detroit at the end of the day gets to walk away with 2 additional firsts to help jump the rebuild by adding to their prospect pool.

Plus getting Jarry is a bonus to see if he can bounce back or move him as well.

This is just an idea, might be more of an off-season thing.

Are there any adds? Too much?

The payments are high to dump cap and ensure goalie depth isn't hurt for any team.

Interesting idea

I don’t think Vegas trades Flury he may be the starter come playoff time if he keeps it up.

I think this year, 2 starting goalies is going to benefit vegas down the stretch. Fleury is already a fan favorite there too. I wouldn't trade a first to give him up.

Ok so pens don't have a 1rst. Desmith will be the goalie going. Not even close.

I was mostly thinking Vegas was in cap crunch so reducing the cap spent on Goalies could help without hurting the core.

You’re really paying to remove salary as Vegas gets a 4th and a 1B to support Lehner.

So it’s not a total loss for Vegas, plus they can use extra cap to add elsewhere at Deadline.

I understand that Pens may want to keep Jarry. The reason I chose him over DeSmith is for cap reasons. Pens get to keep everyone else. Gets a starting goalie and keeps the younger DeSmith to replace and get mentored.

Pens also escape Jarry’s extra term as well.

I thought I saw they had a first this year but I’m open to 2022 1st in its place so Detroit will have 2 1sts in each draft.

Detroit’s goal is to utilize their cap space to stock draft picks.

Vegas’s goal is to remain competitive while saving cap to spend at Deadline for other needs.

Penguins goal is to improve their goaltending and save additional cap to spend on defense or offends into the next season.

That was my idea with this post.

An awful trade idea. Fleury does not have negative value and if you think so watch a game. If Vegas really wanted to shed his cap, I’m sure they could find a suitor willing to give up a first easily.

If this happened, fleury could be taken twice in expansion draft, from Pittsburgh both times.

I understand the point of the trade, but fleury has looked amazing so far, and in a condensed season, if vegas has to win down the stretch, or lehner gets injured, I'm much more confident with fleury. If you get something for him it's OK, but to give up a first and downgrade in net to possibly make another trade, which would probably require a first to get someone good, doesn't seem worth it to me.

I have seen that Fleury has been better and I understand the feedback here which is appreciated.

I wasn’t absolutely certain on the trade values here but was focusing on the overall premise for each team.

If they all want to go differently and have another plan, that’s up to them.
