The leafs laugh at this Elias Lindholm and Derkck Ryan for Zach Hyman, Alex Kerfoot and 2nd. Doesn’t look to good for Calgary does it? Lindholm=Nylander, Ryan=Engvail.

Backlund for Nylander maybe, but then there's a cap issue for Calgary and an age disparity issue for Toronto. Both teams probably say no to that.

And if Backlund is traded, Bennett would be replacing him as the 3rd line center. No way Calgary trades two centers away without getting a pretty good one back.

Besides Backlund is a hard worker while Nylander has reputation for being a bit lazy. It's not a good idea for a team as inconsistent as the Flames are to bring in a guy like that.

I like it casual. The reason I mentioned Kerfoot is so that Calgary gets a 3C back. Don’t listen to vbb’s, he thinks Nylander is a stud. Nylander makes Kessel look like the best two way forward the leafs have ever had.

Backlund is a solid 2c, too expensive to be a 3c. On Calgary they're trying "3 first lines", he's still getting good minutes. In Toronto, he's clearly 3c. He'd be the best 3c in the league, but at 5m+, and losing tavares' winger, I'm not sure Toronto considers.
