Habs trade tatar, cole caufield and a 1st pick
Buffalo sent dahlin skinner 50% retain

Neither team accepts. Dahlin is a lot more valuable than that package and Montreal doesn’t want Skinners contract even at 50% retained for another 7 or so years (I forgot the length) .
I’m not sure why everyone is posting Dahlin trade rumours. If Buffalo does decide to rebuild, he’d be the piece they build around. Buffalo is better to trade guys like Eichel, Hall, Risto, Olofsson, etc to acquire pieces to build a contender around Dahlin.

I ve put dahlin cause you need a high piece to take the contract of skinner and at 4.5 m for a possible 30 goal its a good chance to take and you forgot that we are talking of buffalo eichel will never go anywhere except by itself the gm will never trade him.

@x8xbassx8x I’d rather build a franchise around Dahlin than Eichel. They already built one around Eichel and he couldn’t win any games. His value is high right now.

Skinner at 50% would probably interest teams. How much of his season is starting on 4th line and being scratched? The Sabres should see how he does with a coach that can get a team to want to win. I'd hold him and see if his value goes up, to where you can retain 33% instead of 50% and trade him for a pick. If he shows he can maybe score 30 again, teams will be OK paying 6mil for him.

If they were to trade Dahlin, they wouldn’t be adding Skinner to drop Dahlin’s value. Not a chance

I agree if Buffalo is going to tear it all down and build, I think this time they would do it from the back end out. They tried for 4 years to build around Eichel, it just didn't take. Eichel along with others would bring back picks and prospects they would need to rebuild. I actually think Buffalo would be wise to move Eichel.

I don't know if its our suggestion trades or real rumor we've heard but that my suggestion
To vegas : Domi and a 2pick
To mtl : stastny tuch and a 1st pick
Lets me explain vegas want a top 2 def in pietrangelo or krug and if they can t trade fleury they need money so they need to move a bad contract like stastny too high for is productivity and montreal can take that bad contract for a year and tuch is drop in trade
And domi could be a very good 2 center for vegas and mtl need a big rw what your tough.

Domi reportedly wants as much as Statsny makes. So this is a completely useless trade and that doesn’t even take into account how terrible the value is for Vegas. Tuch is young, big, can skate, be physical and just had a breakout playoff offensively AND he’s signed for less than $5M long term.
MTL gets him and a 1st rounder? Awful trade for VGK.

I’ve actually went over this thought in my mind as well. not saying your trade has the ability or not to actually work but there is a deal to be made by these two teams imo.

I understand your reply but i think domi would cost the same of tuch for a bridge contract around 5 so mtl take a 7M on your cap space and the first is a late choice like 28 or 27 its almost a 2 nd but i know that maybe i need to add something in this trade like some prospect or other but i think they have something to start with that base.

I think it could work. Maybe make the picks a 2nd from Vegas and 3rd or 4th from Montreal? Or instead of Tuch a Fluery Allen swap?

Vegas needs to still build a prospect pool. I think they keep the first. If they want lehner, they'll find a way to trade fleury, he has always put the team first. Fleury could be enticing to several teams, even if he's traded for another goalie at 1m or so.

I really tought that huberdeau will be a great solution for mtl but if you want him you need to put daneault first pick and prospect harris on the table and i think you can start dealing
And for puuljarvi and athanasiou is too much.
