If Detroit gets that much for Green, I will be shouting “TRUST THE YZERPLAN! ”.

Like I’m honestly expecting a Conditional 3rd that May turn into a 2nd. Green’s injury history lowered his trade value.

Now it’s the deadline so anything can happen.

Similar to Green, Daley has injury history.

So I could see getting a 5th, maybe a 4th if lucky. Not sure we get that 3rd. Even if the Jets are desperate.

Also wouldn’t the Jets prefer Green over Daley? We could retain Salary on Green for a higher return from them also.

I could see the Isles being interested in Howard but not sure we will get a 2nd unless he starts killing it and stays healthy.

How is Green even worth a 1st? He’s so old and nowhere near what he once was. Winnipeg can do better.

I would love that return for Green but I would be happy with just a 2nd round pick, even potentially a conditional 2nd that becomes a 1st if Boston makes the cup finals.

Same with the Daley trade, I see his age and injury history catching up to him and making his value lower this season. A 5th round pick would be more than enough to recoup for a 35 year old top 6/ 7th D man.

I could see Jimmy Howard negotiating another 1 year contract with Stevie Y. Other than Holtby or maybe Markstrom, I don't see any potential UFA goalies that would make a better suited replacement to Howard, both in net and as a locker room presence.

If Howard won't be re-signed then I agree a 2nd round pick from NYI for him to play backup to Varlamov would be fair.

@DRWdave, I agree with your assessment.

Although I’m not so sure about keeping Howard. I would consider looking at the UFA market anyways.

If you can sell Ericsson, you will be the new best Wings fan of all time.
