The first part of this is a MTL-WAS trade. (I wouldn't do it, but I can follow what you're saying. )

There appears to be a second trade. but it's hard to follow as written. Looks like you're proposing a 3-way trade, but it doesn't seem to make any sense. Maybe you can reply and clarify who is trading what to whom? (The ARI 6th doesn't seem to jibe with the packages MTL & VCR are giving up? )

2.) 31 May 2023 23:32:54
6th rounders.

3.) 02 Jun 2023 03:23:13
I'm sorry but that Vancouver one looks terrible!

? No Homer Trades.

4.) 08 Jun 2023 18:27:30
GIS: I know a "6th" is a 6th-rounder. :)

If you re-read the second part of your proposal it's just not clear.

I see your A Nucks fan. They win and not close.

2.) 09 Apr 2023 20:59:25
As a Canucks fan, I would be happy getting a 2nd for Brock, maybe a team like Buffalo would be interested.

3.) 17 Apr 2023 15:02:15
Habs give a solid 3C who's good at faceoffs and plays PK time with a 2nd round pick to receive a guy that has barely produced more offensively than him in the past two years and is 1.3M more expensive while also struggling to stay healthy. If I'm Kent Hughes, that's an easy no, even if Mantha is a hometown player.

Boeser trade is better in value, but I'm not sure what direction WSH's management is going towards this offseason. Their core is aging, they might want to rebuild. If they're going for more of a retool I could see it happening

4.) 23 Apr 2023 13:34:34
I think washington said they will try to contend while ovi is under contract.

03 Apr 2023 06:33:37
If the habs pick drop out of top 4

Habs - 1st pick 2023-harris-ferrel-ylonen

Wpg - 1st pick 2023-pld

Habs- wpg 1st pick 2023- primeau

Nsh- askarov

Pretty sure as usual , wpg fan base will rubbish on this but, u guys have to realise that in 2024 u gonna probably lose scheiffle, pld, helleybuck and wheeler. I think the move is going full rebuild. In this you upgrade your pick by 15 position in a good draft, u get a good and young puck moving defenseman in harris, ferrel is a good offensive prospect, ylonen is a b prospect nhl ready.

I think in the askarov one , nsh get a good pick and primeau who will take maybe a little longer to get in the nhl but its better like this because saros who is a good number 1 for the next 5 year

1.) 03 Apr 2023 13:21:21
Montreal isn't trading their 1st and the Jets aren't swapping firsts and adding PLD for an okay but unneeded prospect in Ferrell and two other prospects/ players that aren't needed at all.

Montreal would likely need to offer something along the lines of the Horvat deal.

2.) 03 Apr 2023 17:08:30
I'm deffenitley interested in something around Askarov. Im not sure about PLD. I'm more on the attitude of, let's see if he's available next off season. if he is great ( for the right contract) , if not. no loss, cause Habs don't have him anyway .
I do like the young peices Montreal has. My only concern is I'm not sold and also not sure of the future in net. I dont know enough about recently signed Dobes. I like Montembealt, but more as a 30 to 35 game guy
I would be willing to risk the Florida pick and Primeau for Askarov. not sure what Nashville would want though.

3.) 03 Apr 2023 18:00:53
The Jets would be foolish to do this trade. Unless the Habs want to trade a top end player for PLD and not a bunch of unproven pieces and draft picks these 2 teams aren't good trading partners.
If the Jets can't sign PLD by the draft they should trade him to another team that he would be interested in signing a long term deal with.

4.) 03 Apr 2023 18:33:22
IslandJet: does PLD have a no trade clause?

5.) 03 Apr 2023 18:43:25
Sosa I don't believe he has a no trade clause.

6.) 03 Apr 2023 18:48:52
Sosa, PLD does not have any trade protection clauses.

7.) 03 Apr 2023 20:21:48
Ok, thanks guys.

8.) 04 Apr 2023 21:31:06
That’s a big no from MTL….

9.) 04 Apr 2023 23:03:28
@ Chickenfoot - you wouldn't be interested in Askarov?

10.) 05 Apr 2023 11:30:03
SOSA: definitely not for that package. Goalies are hard to project, and when there’s a choice, I’m taking a non-Russian player every time.

11.) 05 Apr 2023 17:12:48
Russia has the best goalies in the league.

17 Mar 2023 17:20:28
Mtl - harris-allen- 2nd pick 2023[almost a first)

Phi - hart

gis1838

1.) 17 Mar 2023 19:09:59
Easy no from MTL.

2.) 17 Mar 2023 20:19:42
I usually agree with Chickenfoot but this time I think it is a fair trade.
I believe that Hart is going to be a very good player.
He was rushed into the NHL before he was ready and could be a top goalie if the Habs bring him along slowly.

3.) 17 Mar 2023 21:12:35
Ya think so ChickenFoot? If Hart is available, I'd be in on this. I was gonna suggest at the draft Florida's 1st, straight up for Hart.

4.) 18 Mar 2023 00:53:19
I appreciate you both Island Jet and Sosa…plus, it’s way more interesting to share a different take then just agree like sheep?.

I respect both of your opinions and you may well be right. I definitely am not a fan of this trade, because I just don’t believe in Hart. But you may well be right.

5.) 18 Mar 2023 03:03:04
For me, I look at the youth Montreal has. There is a really good group of kids 24 and younger, from the D to the Forwards, the one ingredient missing is a Goalie. Im not sold on Montembeault being this guy, and have given up on Primeau. I'm not sure about the other young guys in the system.
I know Hart was one of the most hyped up Goalies to come from the WHL since, well maybe Price. I haven't seen alot of him, I know he's had some really good moments as well as some really bad ones. I am hoping ( if he became a Canadien) that he can grow with the team and become the potential backbone in net that will be needed to one day compete for the Cup, if all goes well, say 5 years?
ChickenFoot, what are your concerns with Hart? Like I said, I haven't seen alot from him.

6.) 18 Mar 2023 10:45:04
Well stated Sosa. I don’t like his game, consistency, and like you I feel like he’s overhyped. Would he have what it takes to survive playing in a Canadian market? I feel like we know who Hart is, so he’s not the prospect I’m looking for in net. That’s my two cents anyway. Good discussion fellas?.

7.) 19 Mar 2023 14:09:03
I wonder about the Panthers and Spencer Knight.
Goalies like Knight are typically untouchable, but Fla have Bob for another 3 yrs @ 10m per after this season (not trading him without significant retention), and Knight just signed an extension, 3 yrs @ 4.5m/ yr.
14.5m is a lot for a goalie tandem, and they have another pretty good goalie prospect in Guzda. That and Knight has spent most of this season in the Player Assistance Program.
One wonders if Zito might feel like moving on from Knight, and using him as a trade chip to shore up their d, which hasn’t been the same without Weegar. They don’t have much else to trade, and would likely be in on Parayko, Edmundson, or someone else if they had something to offer.
Certainly, the hope is Knight recovers, and when/ if he does, a number of teams (Mtl, Tor, Edm, among others) would probably make offers, were he available.
Zito has been very aggressive the past few seasons, and to sit still this deadline must’ve been exceedingly painful for him.

8.) 19 Mar 2023 17:56:22
People can overcome substance abuse, but they are especially risky targets when it comes to trades.

I wish the best for the young man, but I’d be looking elsewhere.

9.) 19 Mar 2023 18:45:45
I didn't realize Knight was in the Program. I do hope the kid can overcome this.
Montreal would not be a good place for him to resurrect his career. To much media, to many outside distractions ( not that Miami doesn't have those as well) .
Also, with the youth on Montreal, this could also be a bad thing for Knight. I know when I was in my 20's, and had a little money ( which these guys always do) . Was fun getting the boys together and off to the club or whatever. ( I don't know this guy, so I dont know what he likes to do obviously)

Burner89, im deffenitley not against this, as Knight is one of the best young goalies in the game, however just think there are better places for him in regards to his issues than Montreal.

10.) 20 Mar 2023 02:11:32
@Chickenfoot, Sosa
Points taken.

11.) 21 Mar 2023 14:42:58
Montreal has incredible pressure so playing in that market the player will have to have their mental health in order. Those mentioned are fine goaltenders but they would be better to find a tandem that has at least one young guy. They should not go for recycling from the herd of guys that move around.

My suggestion is keep Allen as the vet or trade for Jarry or even Lindgren then find a second year or third year guy like Toronto has in Woll. Only don’t go after Woll because he will be in the NHL next year. I am a leaf fan. It is important to the League to have the Habs back in the playoffs.

I'd do that from MTL if clb is willing.

I would say this is a No from CBJ. I think they would rather keep Murray then trade for a bunch of pieces.

Too much quantity over quality.

Line up i hope to see next year for the habs:

Drouin-poelhing-domi
Suzuki-kotkaniemi-gallagher
Lekhonen-danault-armia
Byron-shaw-agostino

??-weber
Mete-juulsen
Reilly/ollofson-fleury

We should sell tatar and petry now since their value his high right now for a left D or picks and go after gardiner.

Petry seems a fit for toronto / tampa / edmonton (wont waive his clause for edmonton).
Tatar seems a good fit for col / nsh / car/bos / edm.

Thoughts?

gis1838

1.) 10 Jan 2019 00:54:34
If the return is real good I wouldn't mind trading petry and or tatar. But we don't really need to and unless there is a good young player coming back that can jump into the lineup next year to help fill the loss then it's going to create two big holes. I mean we can sit back and say brook can replace petry and suzuki can replace tatar and maybe someday they will but right now they can't. ollofson has been injured since we got him and I wouldn't be hoping or planning on him filling a spot on our blue line next year. Also I feel there is zero chance ( or close to it) that ryan poehling will be on the top line next year and possibly ever also two right shots on a line with kotkaniemi and I hope we don't have to play agostino next year.

2.) 10 Jan 2019 01:41:50
You really want Poehling and Suzuki as top 6 next season? They aren't ready. going to be a couple years before they are NHL regulars. let alone top 6 . I see Suzuki a potential top 6, however I see Poehling as a 3rd line good 2 way centerman. don't let the World Jrs fool ya, he won't be that dominant in the NHL. I think a good player, just not an offensive star .

3.) 10 Jan 2019 22:09:27
Mtl picked Phoeling knowing he will not be a star at the nhl level but definitely going to be a center in the nhl probably Mikael Backlund type center. Exellent third line center, good second line center.
