Tor- matthews

Anh- henrique-drysdale-comptois
2nd pick 2023- 1st pick 2024

1.) 04 Nov 2022 18:01:35
The Leafs won't be trading him away, but I dont think it would be a bad idea . Leafs would want a package based around Mactavish as well as Drysdale would be players id be asking for if I was Dubas

This won't happen though, as Leafs are in a win now mode. However, there is something missing from this team. I think it's passion, heart, whatever ya want to call it.
Maybe some of the Leafs fans can answer what is missing?

2.) 05 Nov 2022 02:29:01
The leafs will trade Matthews this summer when he publicly states he won’t re-sign the following year. Book it.

3.) 07 Nov 2022 13:23:43
Matthews' value, even though he is slightly underperforming this year, is sky high. I think it would probably take Zegras, at least.

4.) 07 Nov 2022 18:00:17
That's not nearly enough of a return for the best goal scorer in the game. McTavish, dysdale, Gibson 2024 first.

5.) 07 Nov 2022 23:19:09
Matthews is a great scorer, no question, but ANA isn’t giving away promising young talents like the names mentioned for ONE year of Auston Matthews, only to lose him after 1 season as a UFA.

Mtl- allen-armia-drouin 50% retain

Arz- colorado 3rd 2024

Mtl- 3rd pick 2023 and colorado 3rd 2024

Nyi- beauvillier

Arz get a decent cost control goalie, drouin half retain his a good gamble and they can flip both a deadline with good return

Islaners free cap space

1.) 18 Aug 2022 23:02:17
ARI, CHI, nor MTL actually want to win this year, so I can’t picture them wanting a decent goalie. They’ll trot out some unknowns this year to be sure?.

2.) 25 Oct 2022 11:46:11
So basically,

allen-armia-drouin 50% retain + 2023 3rd for Beauvilier ?

WAY WAY too much.

28 Jul 2022 14:16:15
Mtl- gallagher-harris-ylonen-1st pick 2023 top 10 protected-2nd pick 2023

Anh- comptois

Kinda a lot , but gallaghers as a bad contract, but still a decent 3rd line player, with character and good work ethic, good for a young team who have cap space

1.) 28 Jul 2022 16:54:58
is Comtois really worth that much?

2.) 28 Jul 2022 18:30:22
Get rides off gallagher contract is the main point of the trade.

3.) 28 Jul 2022 18:25:18
Comtois is only worth a 2nd or low 3rd IMO.

4.) 28 Jul 2022 18:53:19
Holly you would think Mtl would be getting Trevor Zegras for the amount of value going to Anaheim. Comptois might get Gallagher straight up. Gally still has value based on his intangibles and his style of play. Lots of gm would give a 3 rd pick for him with no retention. That’s about how much si value Comptois at this point a second to third round pick,

5.) 28 Jul 2022 20:30:56
Comtois is easily worth more than a 3rd. And no sane GM would give anything up for Gallagher with his contract.

6.) 29 Jul 2022 03:28:59
Calgary and Montreal fans: would you do Gallagher for Monahan?

7.) 29 Jul 2022 05:54:56
Simple Answer: CGY says Heck No. Gallagher isn’t worth $6.5milx5yrs, we’d rather take the risk on Monahan this season and use his $6.375 for better options for the next 4yrs

My opinion though is Gallagher probably just had a bad year on a terrible team, so could put up 30G/ 82GP again, but unless he came 50% retained, we wouldn’t be interested in taking the risk. Statsny & Kessel can likely be had for less on 1-2yr terms = substantially less risk.

8.) 29 Jul 2022 13:09:11
I agree with TrevorA

9.) 29 Jul 2022 14:25:26
Calgary says no thanks. Trade him to where he's from, edmonton. ;)

10.) 29 Jul 2022 14:28:57
Besides what Trevor said Calgary is going to need cap space to resign Lindholm in 2 years and he'll be due for a big raise.

11.) 30 Jul 2022 13:49:03
Monahan’s future is in serious doubt. Any trade for him that doesn’t include compensation for dumping his contract is not credible. He is not an asset that brings back an asset. He is a liability that requires assets to move.

12.) 30 Jul 2022 18:08:13
@Chickenfoot Monahan still could rebound and there are teams that desperately need help at center and may be willing to gamble on him.

13.) 30 Jul 2022 22:55:52
I’d rather have Monahan than Jonathan Toews @10.5m

Sounds like Mony’s rehab is going good. Will be be ready for the start of the season or how long might he be out!?

14.) 01 Aug 2022 03:18:44
I'd rather do a Monahan, Valamaki & maybe a 3rd or 4th round pick for Toews with Chicago eating 3.0 MIll. Toews will be like Perry & Pavelski & know how to elevate his game when needed & show why he used to be elite. I can see Sutter going to him a lot late in important games as he wins faceoffs.
Chicago can get a decent return if Monahan rebounds at the trade deadline. Perfect fit.

15.) 02 Aug 2022 02:28:20
Make it 50% retained on Toews or better yet swap the 3rd/ 4th with a 1st for Patrick Kane 33-50% retained

Valimaki is still going to be an NHL Regular one day soon here and Monahan is Young enough to rebound. Jen doesn’t hold much value, but would need to be included for Cap Reasons.

16.) 02 Aug 2022 20:38:28
MOX - I stand by what I said. The best thing about Monahan’s contract is that it’s over after this year.

Injuries just piled up on a good player…it happens. I haven’t heard one promising thing about his health prospects. I wish the kid all the best, but by any objective measure his ability to play again isn’t a slam dunk. For his sake I hope he can play again. No one is “trading for” Monahan to play as a top 3C anymore.

Mtl- hoffman-armia-ylonen-norlinder-edm 2nd pick 2022-2nd pick 2023

Arz- crouse

1.) 26 Jun 2022 17:45:52
Overpay by Montreal.

2.) 26 Jun 2022 18:04:27
Anybody believe that Crouse is not available/ on ARI's Trade Block?

3.) 27 Jun 2022 00:09:47
Everyone is available for the right price. The question is what is Arizona's price for Crouse?

He wouldn't be considered "untouchable" but the price might be a bit higher than anyone is willing to pay.

4.) 27 Jun 2022 02:00:14
I’ve recently read Crouse isn’t available so I agree it would have to be an offer they can’t refuse otherwise they won’t & don’t need to move him. Then again, that could just be posturing by the GM.

5.) 27 Jun 2022 12:43:48
Why give the entire roster for Crouse lol

05 Jun 2022 22:29:51
Mtl- anderson-romanov-1st panthers in 2023

Wpg- dubois

1.) 06 Jun 2022 00:13:19
Lol. Dubois isn't being moved, but if he was an older winger with a bad contract an average 4/ 5 defenseman and a late first a year from now doesn't get you in the running.

2.) 06 Jun 2022 20:02:37
Another horrible trade for the Jets.

3.) 06 Jun 2022 23:13:03
Value isn't bad but the Jets aren't looking to trade Dubois and even if they were the return doesn't fit their needs.

The only way I can see Winnipeg trading Dubois is if they can't move Scheifele. In that case there'd be a bidding war, to win it Montreal would have to offer the first OA (Shane Wright IOW) + Dvorak + a pretty good young player or prospect.

Mtl- byron 33% retain- brooks-deslauriers- 2nd pick 2020

Vegas- tuch-reaves

1.) 28 Jun 2019 02:23:33
Vegas says no.

16 Jun 2019 00:42:56
mtl- peca-lindgren- 2nd pick 2019 and 2nd pick 2020

clb- murray

1.) 16 Jun 2019 18:46:44
I'd do that from MTL if clb is willing.

2.) 17 Jun 2019 02:00:28
I would say this is a No from CBJ. I think they would rather keep Murray then trade for a bunch of pieces.

Too much quantity over quality.

18 Jan 2019 01:16:11
Cgy- frolik-kyllington

Mtl- kulak-hudon

1.) 18 Jan 2019 01:35:20
No from calgary

09 Jan 2019 23:22:36
Line up i hope to see next year for the habs:

We should sell tatar and petry now since their value his high right now for a left D or picks and go after gardiner.

Petry seems a fit for toronto / tampa / edmonton (wont waive his clause for edmonton).
Tatar seems a good fit for col / nsh / car/bos / edm.

1.) 10 Jan 2019 00:54:34
If the return is real good I wouldn't mind trading petry and or tatar. But we don't really need to and unless there is a good young player coming back that can jump into the lineup next year to help fill the loss then it's going to create two big holes. I mean we can sit back and say brook can replace petry and suzuki can replace tatar and maybe someday they will but right now they can't. ollofson has been injured since we got him and I wouldn't be hoping or planning on him filling a spot on our blue line next year. Also I feel there is zero chance ( or close to it) that ryan poehling will be on the top line next year and possibly ever also two right shots on a line with kotkaniemi and I hope we don't have to play agostino next year.

2.) 10 Jan 2019 01:41:50
You really want Poehling and Suzuki as top 6 next season? They aren't ready. going to be a couple years before they are NHL regulars. let alone top 6 . I see Suzuki a potential top 6, however I see Poehling as a 3rd line good 2 way centerman. don't let the World Jrs fool ya, he won't be that dominant in the NHL. I think a good player, just not an offensive star .

3.) 10 Jan 2019 22:09:27
Mtl picked Phoeling knowing he will not be a star at the nhl level but definitely going to be a center in the nhl probably Mikael Backlund type center. Exellent third line center, good second line center.

07 Jan 2019 23:14:30

If Weber retire, the penalty is humongous for Nashville, they should try to acquire the contract to keep control on it.

Don't think avs will give Barron for lekhonen, I see them going Giroux, Hertl or Forsberg for barron.

Holtby could be a good fit in carolina but the owner won't have the money too sign him.
